How can I add cylinders to an existing figure so each bone has its own cylinder

Hi everyone, I am trying to build a simple rig with three cylinders like in Image 1...  I created a cylinder using the primitive tool then converted it to a figure using Convert Prop to Figure after that I used the Joint Editor to add two child bones so now I have a three bone chain as shown here

The problem is that the figure only has one cylinder because that is what I started with.. But I want to add two more cylinders so each bone has its own one ... So, I tried creating two more cylinders and parenting them to the top bones like in here but when I rotate them it breaks like in this photo .. the parts do not follow properly because I am rotating the mesh not the bone.

So what I want to know is if having a figure which in this case is the converted cylinder with bones, can I later add additional cylinders and make them part of the same figure and how if that is possible?

Export as OBJ and reimport, then rig that.

Richard, thank you so much. I was really scratching my head trying to figure this out. Such a simple and effective solution, you really saved me a lot of time :))
