Don't risk changing your DAZ account email - no support
I changed my DAZ account email 6 months ago, but after that my DIM no longer shows my >6000 purchased and installed DAZ products.
Support ticket 468587 submitted 6 months ago and has never been responsed to.
Support ticket 472775 submitted 3 months ago and had a request for more information a month ago but since then no activity.

Did you change the e-mail address in DIM? I believe that you cannot simply make a new account with the new e-mail, but must modify the one you used before. To modify an existing account, it cannot be the active acount at the time. That means creating a new, dummy account (which would never be used), and modifying the original account details, i.e., e-mail address. The sign-in account code is stored in the original .ini file for the account under which it was created (%APPDATA%/DAZ 3D/Install Manager/UserAccounts/...)
Yes thank you.
I created a new DIM account and changed the email address using 1-line instructions posted by a few users here (https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/699666/change-email-address-in-dim-installer and https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/438287/changed-my-email-address-now-i-can-t-log-into-studio-or-dim). No instructions for doing this even in the DIM user guide!
I'm able to login through DIM (=DAZ account details are correct) but all my already-installed products are only showing up under the Ready To Install tab, not the Installed tab (=DIM somehow hasn't connected my installed products to the new email).
is DIM configured correctly?
Is it pointing to the same folders as Studio?
It sounds as if DIM has somehow been reset and it isn't configured correctly or the drive letters in Windows changed, or something along those lines.
It finds your accouint just fine
It's just not seeing where you put your stuff or it wouldn't be asking to reinstall it.
If it wasn't connecting to your account it wouldn't show anything to install at all.
When a product is installed with DIM, the manifest it creates adds a field called "UserInstallAccount". I imagine it has to match the new account name (not the e-mail) if it is different. Try one or two to see if they come back in the Installed tab. You can batch change the field value with Notepad++ or other tools.
Moved to the Commons as it is not a Daz Studio application issue. What department did you submit your tickets? Sales or Tech? DIM supports multiple accounts.
It seems like a configuration issue in DIM. It sounds like for some reason, DIM kinda "reset/default". Is the path to the manifest, downloads and such checked and or correct? All the settings need to be the same as they were on the old email account.
That's a step in the right direction, thank you.
DIM settings has Manifest Archive=C:/Users/Public Documents/DAZ 3D/InstallManager/ManifestFiles but that path is empty. I'm 99% sure I only changed DIM account details and didn't touch any of the installed files, but they're not in that path. What is the filename pattern of the Install Manifests so I can track them down please? I only see the Package Manifests in the DIM download folder alongside the ZIP files.
If they're missing for some unknown reason, is there any way to recreate them? I have an SSD so really want to avoid reinstalling 1TB of content if possible.
If possible, can you do screenshots of the downloads and Installation tabs? If you have anything installed and is showing in the installed tab you can select a file, then select the 3 vertical dots next to uninstall and then select "show installed files" and that will take you to the location they are installed to.
The installation manifests (in the Manifest Archive) have the same name as the download manifests (in the Package Archive), but very different content. Content will not show as installed without those installation manifests.
How did you change the email in DIM? if you created a new account it will not inherit the settings of the old account, and that used to be necessary (it may have chnaged but in the past it was not possible to edit the active account).
I went through this same thing just a couple of weeks ago - and Josh on the help desk did help (thanks Josh!). My mistake was in creating a new DIM account with the new email address, as I couldn't see an easy way to just change the old account.
Anyway, after looking at the Installation tab in the DIM settings, I found that the default links in the new DIM account I created was putting the manifest files in /Users/Public instead of /Users/<my name>, even though it got the Content Database Base directory correct. I edited the link to point to the original ManifestFiles folder, and everything seems to work now.
If you create a new account in DIM (any, you can use dummy data if you like) then you can highlight and edit the real one. Once edited make it active again and you will get all your settings back.
Great! When in doubt, ask here. That took, what, 24 hours to solve.
All my products are listed on the Ready To Install tab, but none listed in the Installed tab even though the link open the correct (default) folder which has 1.1TB of content installed. Hence I'm unable to select anything related to uninstall or "show install details". Somehow DIM lost the link to my installed content before/after I changed my DAZ account email.
I don't recall the specific steps because I did this 6 months ago, but I followed instructions in posts here on the forum: something about creating a dummy account to change the current account while non-active. However I no longer recall what I specifically copied/pasted/edited.
It seems either I've lost my install manifest files (see comments above) or perhaps I mixed up the old/new DIM account numbers (given the lack of official instructions from the software vendor on what should be a pretty common user need). Is there somewhere I can check in my DAZ account what my DIM account number should be?
I've gone through the DIM logs from around the time I made the change and noticed an anomaly. Prior to that I only have entries using the account called "Account" but then a new account appears called "Default" which must have been the new dummy account. After that it reverts back to account "Account" but from that time on it doesn't see previously installed content.
Unfortunately I no longer have the dummy account details (in case I mixed up the old/new accounts). After having waited 6 months for support it's unlikely users will remember what they did or have copies of files.
Oops, I thought that was you earlier...
If you can see the Ready To Install products, and more importantly, Ready To Download products, then your account is working properly with Daz. You absolutely need those installation manifests to get the correct Installed status in DIM. They should be somewhere on your drive(s), you just need to locate that folder. The only way I know to recreate them is, as you probably guessed, to re-install.
Try re-installing one, then see where it goes. Try finding other instances of that .dsx file on the drive.
Genius! I installed 1 updated product and it created a new install manifest in the public documents folder. I've search my drive and can't find any similar files, so the only explanation is that either I deleted those files or DIM deleted them when I changed email/accounts.
Oh well, nothing to do now but reinstall everything. Thank you for the great support here!
Just wanted to report back that support has been in touch and we've been unable to solve the issue as it appears to be missing install manifests (not sure how/when that happened). Devon from support has been an absolute champ and wanted to say I appreciate the effort after having waited so long on the ticket.
