Genesis to Genesis 2

I have a character I purchase some time ago, Thomas, for Genesis. I have tried using the GenX to get him into G2 but fail at every attempt.
Can anyone give me some advice? I do have Gen x2 & 3.
The ultimate goal is get him into G2 the use RSSY G2 to G8 to get him into a G8 model.

but it did refer to GenX but also some manual methods. I have not done this so I can't say how easy or effective either way is. Hopefully others will see this and add their recommendations.
