Can you make Iray surface one sided?

As it says in the title.

In 3DL I think this is default or something -- an object seen from 'inside' is essentially invisible. In Iray the default seems to be shader is on the outside and inside. Is there a way to change this?

I don't think Iray follows the concept of "hide backfacing polygons." You see that more in biased renderers like 3DL and Poser's Firefly.

  • i wanted to say that in the other thread timmins, but wasn't 100% sure. But physically based stuff would assume you can't cheat like that. my bad.

Le sigh. Scratch that idea. Thanks for trying, Lars!
