Best way to fix dforce hair that has parts that don't simulate?

I'm working on a render where my character has their head leaning back, and I'm using https://www.daz3d.com/eirgrid-hair-for-genesis-9. When I simulate the hair, most of it works, but the braids don't seem to have dforce applied. They just stay static. Am I missing something? How could I fix this most easily? The back braid in particular is jarring because when I pose it to get it to hang down, it just kinks in one spot like below. That's from posing, not dforce. Dforce doesn't change it at all.

I don't have a lot of experience adjusting weight maps or that sort of thing, but I am great at following directions or tutorials when I know the direction I should be going. :) (Same goes for rigging if adding bones would be the best option. Zero experience there, but if I know the terms to search for for a tutorial, I'm sure I can figure it out.)

Thanks!

There are bones in the hair. Try to expand, and see if dialing those can help you.

Am I missing something? Because I don't see multiple bones in the braid and I can't expand it further. (screenshot attached) It bends in one place.

There is only one bone per braid, so you can bend it, but can't make it curve or curl.

It is a little limited. So if you find it in suffucient, you can add extra bones yourself.
