ZBrush to create new material zones

I used GoZ to send a dress from DAZ Studio to ZBrush. I then used the ZModeler brush (point slide) to adjust the existing topology of the dress. I did this so I could then create a new material zone in Studio with the polygon group edit tool. On the return trip back to Studio, I created a morph. When I change my view to Wire Texture Shaded, I can SEE the dress topology edges move into place, but once the morph is dialed fully in, it reverts back to the original shape.

Is there a trick to this, or am I (yet again) attempting to do something impossible? Thanks for any suggestions.

    AhHA! Yes, there was a smoothing modifier. After I unchecked "use limits" in the parameter settings and changed the smoothing iterations value to zero, my morph worked. Thanks!
