dForce Kunoichi Updo Hair for Genesis 9 doesnt autofit properly on gen 8 and 8.1
I recently got the Kunoichi Updo hair asset and for some reason when I autofit it on a gen 8.1 it doesnt sit properly.
I have a few gen 9 hair assets and I never faced the same problem before.
I provided an image of the problem I am facing. In the image all hair assets are gen 9 ( although they provide gen 8 and 8.1 formats as well but I used the gen 9 format to test the autofit and as you can see the rest of the assets fits perfectly on the figure with the exception of Kunoichi). The figure is the base genesis 8.1 female.
the asset seems tilted/rotated backwards and it is not scaled properly as well.
any advise suggestion would be apreciated.

Comments
I would genreally not try to autoifit hair anyway, it removes custom bones (if any are present) and doesn't work on dForce hair. Rather it would parent the hair to the ehad and adjust its placement to more or less fit, then use a Smoothing modifier set to collide with the base figure or one or more dForms to handle any residual issues
every hair in the preview image I posted is a dforce one and I can simulate them just fine. nonetheless I wil try what you suggested though all that trouble for a single asset seems too much if I am being honest. not to mention that if you pose it afterwards it wont follow even when parented. so it is either, as an asset, specifically made for gen 9 and gen 9 alone ( which sucks for me I guess) or there is something wrong with the asset optimization. its not the first time something like that has happened. I had morphs autoloading in the past and had to remove the assets themselves.
thank you for your time
Hello there,
strand-based/dforce hair cannot be easily autofitted between different figures. Also as RIchard mentioned, you would also lose any custom rigging.
There is a workaround I described in this tutorial - https://www.deviantart.com/toyen-art/journal/Tutorial-How-to-Fit-Poseable-Hair-to-Genesis-9-933611835
It is a bit tedious but it can be done.
This tutorial describes how to fit G8 hair to G9 but this approach also works in reverse.
Hope this helps!

Thanks Toyen this helped me too!
