Princess Petra's hair does not render correctly nor, ...
I just bought the dForce Princess Petra's Twin Tails for Genesis 9, sku 107056. https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-princess-petras-twin-tails
It does not work! It only renders gray. It ignores all the included matierials. The morphs that were supposed to be included are not. and dforce has almost no effect. I bought this from the daz website and installed it using the install manager. I did nothing unusual. I am using daz studio 4,22,0.1 on a windows 10 computer. I have been using studio regularly for more than 10 years, I've never had a problem like this before. Assuming Pronces Petra did not release an unworking product, what could I be doing wrong?

Here is a render of that hair.
I think that's your problem, actually. If I remember correctly, the OmniHair shader that basically all dForce hairs getting released these days use was introduced in 4.23. You might be able to use it in 4.22, but you'd need to update your Default Resources.
edit: to clarify, whether OmniHair works in 4.22 or you have to upgrade to 4.23, you'll need up-to-date default resources either way.
OmniHair shader was introduced in DS 4.22.0.16, so in 4.22.0.1 it's indeed not supported.
So OP you have 2 options
Thank you, Gordic and Leana, for your responses to my question. You were both correct. But Leana saw that I was using 4.21.0.1, which does not have the necessary shader in it. I upgraded to 4.23.0.1. Now the shader works!
