Does Ultrascenery XT still work with Studio 4.23.01?

I'm trying to generate a landscape using Ultrascenery XT, and while it does generate it and update it in the previews, the render shows no biome or any vegetation and the texture looks very crude and unfinished. Is there a known problem with the plugin working in the more recent Studio versions or am I just missing or forgetting something? I've installed all three of the files from DIM (the two main ones and the materials/skies).
Thanks in advance for any help.

did it work for you prior to 4.23? If not, did you swlwct which ecology you want in the menu? the material adn all that? hmmm though..i just tried it and there was nothing other than ground litter. I tried to add a terrain and the entire DS crashed. That's interesting for sure.
EDIT: tried a few more then the grass and woodlands worked. Then tried the oaks and australia again, and this time they work. Not sure what is up. I see a new version of DS avallable, 4.23.3 ... not sure I want to install it. need to find out what has changed first.
Thanks for checking so quickly. I did not have any crashes, but I did try a preset scene, set the materials, so on, and it always gives me the rough terrain with no trees or anything. I uninstalled it, reinstalled it, and the same thing. I'm also not in a hurry to install that new version of Studio that came out today? yesterday? I'm in the middle of doing work for someone and I can't risk it. I'll try other presets, but I did try three so far and none worked.
may I suggest posting this in the commerical section, untrascenery post...experts are there :) I'm sure someone knows or can figure it out.

That's the wrong thread for Ultrascenery XT. You want this one: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/523766/ultrasceneryxt-large-terrain-landscape-generator#latest
thanks. i always just point on that main one. but good point there for sure
I may have found the problem, maybe Daveso can confirm if this works for him too. You need to save the Terrain map before rendering, at which point it will create a Flow map that I assume determines where the biomes go. It was allowing me to continue and render without saving the terrain map first, which is why I thought there was something wrong. I don't know if it was always this way or if the save location matters (I saved it in an existing UltraSceneryXT folder), but so far, three tests have worked. I'll try to find the manual and see if it mentions this, wish me luck in finding it. ;)
Thanks.
From the manual:
3.6 Terrain Maps UltraSceneryXT terrains use some extra image map files, that it generates, that are required for correct functionality. These maps are used extensively to give more realism to the look and distribution of plants and materials on the terrain.
3.6.1 Save Location The terrain maps need to be saved to your file system/disk so use this control to select a location. If no location is selected a prompt will popup when a render is started asking for this location. A good idea is to select the same folder/directory (or sub folder) that the scene file is saved to.
