for the new Daz studio full monitor support and more..

It has probably been said before but, there really needs to be full monitor support within daz studio. what i mean by this, for example. it does not support separate settings for two different monitors within DAZ. ie. I have a 4K 43in monitor and a 2K 27 inch. in order for me to undock anything to the smaller monitor, i have to have the scaling of the smaller monitor at the same scale of the primary which is blown up out of porportion and makes the work flow difficult. Secondly, and this has been a gripe for years but it is becoming a bigger issue as monitors are now at 8K resolution and we will be stepping into the 12K resolution very soon. DAZ studios inability to be able to set the individual font size withing the software for panes, windows and the like causes extreame eye strain. at 4k it is barely readable currently. the only option a user has is to reduce the resolution as well as increase the scale. this defeats the purpose of using 4 and 8k models when modeling.

Agreed that the font size is an issue with DS4.x There is an awkward fix that could be done within the program (and I've tried to do it in my C++Builder programs) but it is inelegant and slow-ish. Basically, it relies on the programmer deciding on the physical size of the screen components, and increasing the font size until the correct component size is achieved. Once that is achieved, scale up all screen components by the same amount and then everything is readable. But similar solutions have not been adopted in DS 4.x - whenever I've suggested them, I have been given a long list of reasons all amounting to 'No, not going to do it because, well, just because'.

It may be worth looking at DAZ Studio 2025 and seeing if such things have been fixed in the new version 6 of the program (You should see it in DIM somewhere).

Another issue is the size of the thumbnails and .tip images in the library. At 91px square, they are heading towards useless on high dpi monitors. I am using a 195dpi monitor - so 91px is 0.46" across. My eyes are not as good as they could be, but that's really too small to be usable. The standard .tip images are 256px square. That's small, only 1.25"-ish across. On my freebies I use 512px by 512 or 256px depending on what's suitable for the image. Even that is barely over 2" wide on a high dpi screen but is as big as I feel I can use. I do hope DS2025 is going over to a set an on-screen size for the library thumbnail and tip images so that they won't continue to get smaller & smaller.

    Regards,

    Richard
