DAZ Studio should have an AI assistant
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but if you look at Blender or DAZ Studio right now or Poser or Maya or any other 3d program I can think of, there is no 3D software suite where you can type in a simple colloquial prompt and it will put together or alter a scene based on that prompt. A lot of 'text to art' products rely on essentially using trained 'neural networks' to spit out a finished image from training data but perhaps a much more direct and controlled approach would be if Daz Studio had a prompt where the user could describe in relatively conversational terms what they are after and then Daz Studio could locally attempt to do the best it can with what it was prompted to do and has locally available. From a business perspective it could even guide users on what assets they should potentially buy in order to get a better result.
Sorry if this is something that's often been discussed but I just feel like it's an opening in the market that would help to get DAZ Studio to attract more people.
Your thoughts?

If the forums are anything to go by, AI implementation in DS certainly isn't attractive to the vast majority people who already use DS. Yellow exists as a paid add-on that generates a character as you describe them, if that's something you're interested in.
Quite true. I for one definitely want DAZ Studio (and Blender and such) to stay something that *I* play with, not the AI. If people don't feel they have the time or desire to learn how to use DS (which is actually quite easy), then they could just use an AI generator maybe? Personally, I don't approve of gen AI, but that's a whole other can of worms. Maybe DS is just the wrong place for what that kind of thing, is what I'm suggesting.
Edit: @Diaspora, I didn't mean to imply that you personally don't know how to use DS! I was thinking of a general public inquiring after AI in DS. So apologies if it sounded rude or condescending. I've tried to clarify my text.
A fundamental problem here is that to train an AI, you need training data - for text models, they're trained on a mountain of text. For image models, they're trained on a mountain of images that are then usually captioned by feeding them through existing AI image processing models.
For those datasets, they're generally scraped off the internet, where there's billions of words of text and billions of images out there. There's no equivalent dataset of DS scenes to use as training data, even more so when considering that Daz so far shown that they want to train their AI tools exclusively on Daz Originals they hold the copyright for.
It absolutely does not. The whole point of DS is to build the scene yourself, not tell an AI to do it for you.
Generative AI is not equal to supportive AI.
An AI, that does things for you is a no go.
AI that is more efficient for calculating light rays or creating fbx from 2d footages is ok to me.
I absolutely hate, yes hate this AI image look and AI generated movie clips make me feel sick.
The only artistic way to actually use AI animations is to display nightmare sequences in movies.
It absolutely got this look and feel of a nightmare.
I'd like an AI assitant that would adjust poses to look more balanced (not that that would always be a good thing, but as an option it might be handy).
Another thing I would like is soemthing to harmonise materials when using content from a range of artists in a single scene.
LOL, I am very proficient with using DS, but I mostly use AI for creating images now. An AI generator is just like a render engine, you get what you put into it. I can get results and details that I can't get with DS, I can get faster results than using Iray, I can get MUCH faster animations that are more realistic than using DS, it's much cheaper also with less PC requirements than DS, and I have to learn and put in the work to get what I want, even with AI.
I would love to have a version of DS that has AI components, but I don't see that happening. DAZ is so far behind the AI curve, it would take a lot for them to catch up
It's like asking an AI-friend to do the job.
If you are using a cloud service, yes. If you have the AI-app on your computer, you will need a lot of processing power as well.
As I said many times before, little AI helpers would be great, but I really don't like to see those "Do this art for me, because i want quick results and don't want to think about it to much" AI apps in DAZ Studio.
If your friend is a toddler that doesn't understand what you mean most of the time. An AI generator can create some amazing images, but getting it to produce exactly what you want is usually much harder. I know artists that have given up on AI because of how frustrating this can be.
