Reality 4.1

this might be the wrong section but any help would be welcomed

I recently baught reality from the daz store, I downloaded it just fine, I managed to install it just fine but when it comes to using it.... I can not because for some reason it can not get past the registration part I have entered my license key along with the rest of my details but keep getting the same error over and over "can not conect to database" is there someting I could do to get past this to fix it so I can start using it or is this just a con job or a dogegy product

  • There server is being over burdened at this time. I cannot even download the upgrade yet. I will wait for it to slow down. As far as registration continue to try and dumbe your internet files from time to time.

I had the same trouble but then decided that getting it last night was worth the $14 to upgrade my R2 rather than wait a day for my free R4 upgrade. Well worththe cost, I got a good evening rendering at truely epic speeds with some really great lighting. I've been using Iray for a bit, which is great but I get much better results in Lux.

  • thank you it's working now though I've yet to see this fantastic speed

If you are new to reality and luxrender, you won't notice a speed increase because the very nature of an unbiased renderer is slower than biased. Luxrender 1.5 "IS" faster than the previous versions. Also the speed increase has more to do with your PC hardware and will vary based on systems.

Unfortunately, 4.1 replaces 4.0, and so I cannot easily see whether I am getting a speed increase.  If there is one, it isn't so great as to be immediately obvious.  2013 iMac.
