How does pc sale usually work?

I was wondering what the average scenario has been over the years? I know things can change, but what has been typical? Also, what is on sale, I mean is it like all pc+ items, like the 1.99 stuff? I thought I saw someone say in a post that Daz bundles a lot of the pc+ stuff, example: pirate clothes becomes a pirate bundle, etc, etc, etc. Just wondering so I can prepare my finaces now, and thought this would also help others who haven't participated or been around for these sales in prior years.

Last year (BIG DISCLAIMER: nothing to say this year will be the same) there were at various times:
And sometimes discounts on Gift Cards and/or PC Membership extensions (I hope that one will be back!)
ETA: Sometimes they go for a "punches"/"reward meter" style sale, but not every year - only time will tell...
usually I just sign the back of my paycheck and mail it in,,but I'm a bit old fashioned I still like to send stuff in the mail.

I just hope given the flak from the PA sale, they ditch the punches that expire model.... But... Anyway I do hope they do a good sale on pc membership...-
I hope they put gift cards out at a good discount. Every little bit helps when the CAD/USD exchange rate is so poor.
every year is different. i miss the polling battles and propaganda
Historically, they haven't released Official characters during the PA sale-- until this year. I think M4 turned up for the PC sale that year, or sometime shortly thereafter. My memory of that timeframe is kinda hazy.
EDIT: I checked, and M4 was released during the sale in 2008: October 20. I would not be surprised if they released M7 for the anniversary.
We are getting so many "official" characters nowadays it's not the same thing. not really comparable.
Like Larsmidnatt says, the rules change every year, so it isn't really possibl to predict what is going to be the drill this year. And the PC Anniversary historically was a collection of related "events" rather than a single sale like March Madness or the PA sale. Which throws it even more open.
However, you'll probably need to check for new PC releases every day. And be prepared to follow threads in the forums. There will probably be more than one of them, and they move *fast*.
Some years there are themes. One year we had the 1930s carnival theme and that was the month that we got most of the lovely carnival stuff that is in the PC now There've been additions since, and extra texture addons, but the base items were released then. That month we also got a number of excellent 1930s outfits for M4 and V4. I think 2010 was the year that we got the Cheyenne collection. But I culd be wrong about that. It could have come out a different time of year.
In any case there are rather a lot of bundles and Extravaganzas on offer. The Extravaganzas are bundles that are available for only a limited period. They don't remain in the store, although they may get brought back out for future PC events. These may be composed of newly released items, older items, or a mixture of both. There are usually also freebies and you need to watch for them, because they will only be free for a short period of time. One or two days, maybe.
One thing that used to be a big deal was the members poll. In that we were given a list of about 100+ DAZ Originals (usually older items, but some new ones as well, including software like Hexagon or Bryce) and invited to vote for which ones we would like to buy at PC price The top winners each day would be on sale for something like one or maybe it was two days at that price. The number of winners varied by year. I wandered in in time for the 7th Anniversary and that year it was 7 winners. The following year it was 8, after the 10th Anniversary that was abandoned, I can't remember how many winners it was each day for the past couple of years.
The following day, everyone would vote again on the remaining items on the list. After about a week we got a new list. The members poll ran for close to 2 weeks and there was a great deal of politicing in the thread to vote for certain items. There were also coalitions for say "Animals" or "Guy Stuff" or various other categories and they often had threads as well.
The last couple of years much of the fire has gone out of the poll, but it is still likely to show up, possibly later in the month. Last year it only showed up in the last half of the month.
In any case, expect the event(s) to take a lot of attention. There will be some great stuff released during it. Some of which will probably be released under the newer paradigm of only being available at the lowest price fort a couple of weeks and then defaulting into a slightly higher-priced collection.
i didn't even realize there was any poll at all last year. i was very inactive so I might have missed it. I still think I have my vote for Reby Sky propaganda art I made from years ago.
I don't remember seeing a poll last year either. Was it in the Member's Only forum? I surfed that too though.
It did show up, but late. Not until about midway through the month and was comparitively lackluster. Didn't really generate much energy at all.
Indeed, it was so washed out that if they decided not to hold it this year, I wouldn't be astonished. But they always *have* held it so far, so it's easier to guess that it will probably happen than that it won't.
Spending lots by saving lots most likely.
Darn, I was hoping to see some G2 pro bundles on sale, Belle, Josie, Girl, Gianni, some of those maybe. If they don't, if I'm not mistaking, that will mean two months with no sale on the base figures.
No, I think they mean no NEW figures. But even that isn't confirmed. I would expect older figures to have tons of sales. More likely than not in fact.
But then they did release Josie 7 during the pa sale.
Exactly. Anything can happen.
I was just clarifying what DarkSpartan suggested. I think horus interpreted that there wouldn't even be sales on DO characters.
In fact if I was a betting person, I would bet there will be a new character during the PC sale. Because it's a month long event, and Daz has been releasing figures really quickly lately(monthly if not faster). Teen Josie will already be an Adult and not so new...so i expect in the next couple of weeks some sort of new shape!
And they released Josie 6 during the PC sale of 2013

Traditionally a number of Starter Bundles, and even Pro Bundles are on the master list for the member's poll. Yes, that's right. The whole bundle for PC price. For one day (the more I think of it the more I'm convinced that it was only one day -- although the time change wasn't always accurate).
Of course since the club went to PC+ there is no longer a single established PC price of $1.99. But even the $3.49 price would render those a steal.
there were some cool bundles for $2, the battles in the forums to steer peoples opinions were fun.
3.49 is actually the introduction price for a 5$ pc+ item. I believe a 7.99 item is possible, though I don't remember if there has been a release with that base price.
I don't recall being on sale.
I do recall in one thread they were talking about PAs being on sale, maybe she was getting muddled up with that. http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/63131/aren-t-pa-s-supposed-to-be-on-sale-3-days
Not yet I think.
Didn't you get the notice? you were bought buy the Korean Spammer from the Nuts & Bolts forums... Something about needing you to work hard to make more stuff...
But Idon't make stuff anymore, I just break things.
That's why you were on sale.
Then you just need to be more efficient at it.
I think it may have been during the PA sale one year that Daz offered various Generation 4 pro bundles (Michael, Victoria, Freak, Girl, Stephanie, Aiko) for free when you purchase $10 or more.
