Daz Studio is unusable

Hi I am not able to use Daz Studio. I opened the application fresh empty scene and I can not use, view, rotate or change anything. What should I do I reinstalled Daz Studio.  I am posting this because I can't find any active forums with similar issue.

Thank you for help.

A good starting point would be to list your system specifications. Also, if you can get the UI to respond, which View is active (drop-down at top-right of the Viewport, assuming that is open - if not Window>Panes(Tabs)>Viewport to fix your issue) and which tool (Tools menu)?

  • System -

i5 12600K, RTX3060ti, 16gb ram, 125 gb free space, Yes by default View Port is open but is not usable at all.  Even the whole daz feels very slow and top menu bar(File Edit Script) or tools(Universal, Rotate ) are taking a lot of time after selection.

Does the i5 have its own, Intel, GPU? If so, which is DS using for display - I think this should be in the nVidia Control Panel, which can be reached via right-click on the desktop.

  • Hi Richard, Yes I5 does have its own GPU but I have connected Nvidia Graphics Card for Display output.

16GB of system RAM will be limiting, though I am surprised it is noticeable so early.

  • i am not sure i have been using daz for 2years never had this problem. Yeah but now I checked it is using 70% of my memory. Is this something with new update?

  • But is this the real issue. because this happened suddenly there were no signs for past 2 years?

It could be, or it could be that some other system/application chnage has reduced the effective free memory.

  • Is this system memory error, or it could be something else?

It's hard to say - if it is running out of system memory and paging to disc that will slow everything down. Does there seem to be a lot of disc activity?

Go to task manager > details then add the "commit size" column, this way you can check the committed memory for each process and find the culprit. On my system daz studio takes about 1.3 Gb of committed memory, and about 730 Mb of working set.
