I like this idea.  Short,  suite,  and complete.

hahah This is a fun idea! I look forward to seeing the posts!

@Greybro I assume, based on the hands, that this is Ai?

If Ai is welcome, there's an experiment I did to see how the newer models handle more complex prompts. This was made with Flux. I was shocked that it got all three panels and it got the text right, for the most part, (though I had to reroll a couple of times). As you can see, the text isn't perfect, but I was pretty surprised at what it could do.

Oh yeah, AI. AI enhanced like mine. Hand drawn. Photo based. I really like the idea of a concise concept. I was one of those, "Only Pay Attention To The Covers," comic kids in my youth.

BTW, here is the DAZ Studio only version of my "Buddy Movie," one pager. As you can see KREA ai essentially just adds detail and messes up hands and writing.

you have achieved a cool look with this! It's one of the ones that made me purchase easy Filatoon, though I have yet to produce anything I really like in a toon style. I guess I need more time playing with it.

I like when a new set just inspires an idea straight away. I download and execute the idea at the same time. This almost never happens. This is an M4 version of a character with my FaceMorph and my Creech which I like to think folks remember from various versions of Poser's included content.

Really like this art style.  And since I'm right in the middle of the "Dad,  what do you know about anything?"  phase of life,  any pro-parent message gets noticed.

hahah Yeah, while I don't have any kids, I recall being the one on the other side of the "Dad, what do you know about anything" phase. Thankfully I've grown out of it and have come to really appreciate the wisdom and knowledge the older generation imparts upon us. I'm sure your kids will come to appreciate you and your wisdom someday too. Hang in there! :)

This is a great idea! Especially since a full comic story can be daunting, and a single page is infinitely more doable. Enjoyed seeing the entries so far - look forward to more!

I thought I'd work on something loosely Frank Frazetta inspired, but got distracted by a DAZ+ challenge and made the following as a comment on this past week of the March Madness sale. Features me and LLola Lane from the forums. I also downloaded Comic Life this week to try it out for this and like its ease of use.

CUTE!  You haven't used this character in a long time.  And if this is the one you've been having expression trouble with, I think I know the problem.  laugh

But I want t omake a serious point about expressions.  Puppet-you has 2 panels.  What's changed?  A little mouth, tiny face direction and eye direction.  AND YET it's a completely different expression.  Discuss.

The upper neck dials are extremely powerful emote tools.

Thanks! Yes, she was seriously due for a render. And this time, joined by a new and bright Llola puppet!

Thank you! I sooooo love having puppets in DAZ. smiley Realism at its best! I've had people who know I do 3D stuff ask me whether this was a real puppet, because they were sooo sure it must be - it looked too real. Hahaha.

And I'll tell you the serious answer to that: My puppets are seriously good professional actors. I ask them nicely and they deliver. With emotion, with nuance, with skill! I just wait a minute, then hit render. yes

I may have to find a way to pester Joe Quick suggest that Joe Quick make some for G9... Converting G8 Felton to Feltina comes with issues. sad

Absolutely! Neck positioning makes such a difference!

A nonsense idea I had a few years ago. Now its time has come! It seemed a perfect fit for a comic 'one pager'... smiley (I hope my puppets and I don't start spamming this thread... The idea of comic one-pagers is way too inspiring!)

I was thinking more about expressions. David R often mentions the importance of context.
For me, several things give context in stories: the scene/setting and changes in the setting, the characters and what we can figure out about them from their presentation, the sequence of events, and the dialog.
In this example, by and large the character posing and words play together to give meaning to their expressions, however simple. My personal love though is for stories without words. There we end up with a very different dynamic. One publisher put it really well as being about apprehension rather than comprehension. It changes the stories you choose to tell and how to tell them, and expressions and body language have to do a little more work.

HA HA!  Brilliant.  His face in the second panel.  Perfect!

You guys' pages are really fun! I think this thread was a cool idea! Really hope it catches on! So many people want to create stories but the idea of a full comic is very daunting for a lot if people. However a single page is a lot less intimidating and can be managed a lot easier. I hope we see it catch on!

THIS is fantastic and precisely the type of inspiration I hoped would occur in this thread! Thank you.

Precisely my thinking. Most folks bore of a multi-week month or year commitments, my self included. These fun one offs keep the creative juices flowing and don't require a lot of time overhead.

And then, as in this case, you just need to say it's freakin FUNNY!  Mission accomplished!

Greybro Thank you! This thread idea is really fun! Thanks for setting it up. I think it opens up a lot of possibilities - whether we want to try and be funny, or create a set-up for a story to draw in the viewer. Of course, now the idea of 'comic one pagers' has inconveniently taken over a big chunk of my brain, so that I'm thinking in 'comic one pagers' way too much... surprisesmiley

David R Thank you! This was so fun to do. smiley

After my nonsense answer previously, I started thinking about context and expressions too much since I was working on a story with a statue - no expressions there! But the context makes us project emotion onto it... So of course, I decided on a random waffle in my post. wink

    Probably for handling the back-ups.
