So how much trouble am I in?

I just saw a thread where people have hundreds of pages of items.  And now, I can see how that could happen!

    I'd say you're in a LOT of trouble. :))))))))

  • You're only in trouble if you use credit. I advise against that. If it's cash you have, no worries :)

    Welcome to the PC :)

You're actually in big trouble, as next month is PC anniversary, which means big sale aimed primarily at PC members...

A tip         Set yourself a 3D budget.  Each month, on pay day buy yourself a gift certificate for that amount  and then redeem it so it sits in your account as Store credit.

Sometimes there are special offers on Gift Certs, so you can save money on them.

Store credit is like money, it doesn't expire, it just sits in your account till you want to use it, and then it works just like money.

There is only one thing you cannot buy with a gift cert, or store credit, and that is another gift cert.

The gift card says it expires in one year. If I use it to get store credit for it, the store credit will not expire?

  • I have yet to set a budget, but I do use the store credit method. Makes it much easier to keep track of spending.

I dare you not to buy something for more than a year.

  • I don't have any major credit cards, I pay cash for everything but the car and house lol.  Got rid of the credit cards several years ago.  And I only use the money I make selling lampwork beads for my hobby related expenses. I have a day job but the beads are a bit of extra income.  But I can see how difficult it will be to not spend it all!  Will definitely have ot set up a budget as I do use my bead budget for other things as well.  and the store credit is a great idea.  I think I will be asking for gift certificates for Christmas as well.

I actually laughed out loud at that.

The gift card itself will expire in one year if you don't use it. But once you've used it and turned it into store credit, the credit is there until you spend it all.

To Silverriverjewelry, Welcome to the platinum club and you certainly are in big trouble now!wink But the store credit suggestion is a good one to set a budget, but only if you keep to it and don't do like me and go back to credit card use when the credit is used up...

I can imagine it gets easier to keep the budget as time goes by and your content storage gets bigger, but speaking from own experience having found DAZ just a few months ago there's sooooooo much "old" content still to get in addition to all the new stuff that keeps coming so it's hard to resist all the platinum deals.

Lots.... Buying stuff becomes an addiction... however careful timing can keep the damage to a minumum. PC club can save you lots of money in the long run... When new it is the hardest time to resist sales and things... but later when you have 10 teeshirt/jean sets, it does become easier.

I have been a PC member since it first started, which was a year before the Forums started.  The Forum was to celebrate the first Anniversary of the PC.  I have never regretted being a PC member.

nope,,actually I'm am semi retired from an ice cream factory.I worked there for 15 years. That's also how I got my nickname.I helped start a small business a year ago so that's the "semi" part of the retirement.

  • Actually I do appreciate the nudge, if I am going to buy I prefer to buy as cheaply as possible lol

    I know :)

  • On the subject of trouble, I was in a lot of trouble earlier. Had way to much stuff in my cart. Had to reduce it to 1/3 and then it was OK to check out. Then I came back and got one more item. Now I'm good.

  • Yes, I put things in the cart. then I go look at the cart to see what I have and how much it is.  then I decide do I REALLY need this right now?  and adjust.  Maybe one day i will win the lottery and won't have to worry about it.  Or, my daughter will be done with nursing school and some much needed funds will be freed up lol. She's the last one to be in college and then we are done

  • Let's just focus on the question you originally asked. The answer: You are in a LOT of trouble, amigo!

  • Soooo, I bought the platinum package today (It was technically free given the money i saved and I made $3 after the discount it gave me).  I'm afraid to open the shopping tab now!

I just saw a thread where people have hundreds of pages of items.  And now, I can see how that could happen!

My wallet used to be my friend; now I have to hunt it down. It's like playing hide and seek. wink
