Super-Slow Files Saves & Loads?

Apologies if this is an oft-asked/answered question, but I'm not the most skillful searcher of forums.

I'm seeing file saves (and opening) taking an exceedingly long time -- but especially saves.  As in, 10-20 minutes to save a file.  My hardware hasn't changed and the nature of my work hasn't changed much since before the slowdown began -- but I think I saw this happen on a DAZ release one or two releases ago -- not certain exactly when.  Currently running 4.23.01.  Been meaning to ask about it.  Typically some system or software oversight on my part -- or some release note I missed.  Any techniques on how to investigate and correct this would be appreciated.

10 ~ 20 mins to save a file ? Unbelievable ~~ Have you tried saving the file to other disks... issue persisted ?

How many content libraries do you have connected ?

Do you use the database or just the folder view?

  • Thanks Crosswind & Matty --

Night and day difference between saving to an internal vs. external SSD.  Saves/loads to/from the internal are quick.  Now before you dismiss me as a complete moron . . . I didn't think to even bother checking because saves to external SSD's have been quick for me for years.  So something still changed.

In a further display of ignorance, Matty, just one content library, I believe -- but also from an external SSD.  Not sure the distinction you're making RE "database" vs. "folder view."
