Daz Studio has microscopic text with uhd screen!

Hi! I've just bought a new laptop with a UHD screen, it's two time the resolution of full hd at 3840x2160. Now the text is so small that I need to use the windows magnifier to read the text and even then at 200% it's a little small! I've looked and can't find a way to make the text any larger without using the windows mangniffier!

Is there a way to make the text larger as it is extremely hard to use Daz the way it is at the moment! The install manager is also hard to use without the windows magnifier!

There are two things I tried which made it *better*.

First, I switched the UI layout to one with slightly larger fonts. I'm at work right now, so I can't tell you exactly which layout. That doesn't help the menus, though

Second, I upped the Windows font DPI to 200%. Unfortunately, Windows HiDPI support isn't very consistent, as some programs use other UI kits, so that messed up too many other programs for my taste.

I wish DAZ would enable custom font sizes via QTkit for the end users in addition to custom colors they already allow. That would allow you to just customize DAZ Studio without affecting other programs.

  • Thanks for the reply but after changing UI and changing the font size nothing seems to have been improved. this problems only seems to happens with daz, Carrara seem to be ok!

  • something needs to be done to solve this problem as 4k will become more common place in the not too distand future and then there's 8k to look forward too!

My next laptop too may be a UHD model.  DAZ does need to work this!

  • Add me to the list, I have the same problem... they really need to add a "UI Scaling" feature like many programs have.

I don't even have UHD and it's hard to read. My screen is 24" and I've pretty much had to memorize the menu entries and the positions of all those teeny toolbar icons. It's a problem for me in Studio but I've managed to deal with it, but I cannot use Bryce anymore at all. Have to stand up and put my face in the monitor in order to discern what's what in the 'everything squished into the upper left corner' of that interface. laugh

Well, the solution is quite simple, get reading glasses for yourself.

That is the advice, I give to users of UHD screens at work.
