Lawn/meadow generator?

Yo.

Do you know of a product that allows one to randomly generate lawn/meadow vegetation like grass, flowers, and whatnot? Or maybe a good randomized ready-to-go lawn? It has to A) generate small patches of vegetation, not whole half-Earth-wide fields, and B) make the plants in it random in species, size, shape (like instancing them from a nice set of pre-gens), rotation, position... Ideally, color, too. Nature knows no standardized level lines, so I'd like my 3D lawn to be as realistic in its randomness as possible. Also, no super-duper-mega-uber amounts of polygons; mid-poly would be quite enough.

Anyone? Please? :)

UltraScenery 2? You can pick the size of your terrain, and there's a meadow/grassland add-on pack (can't recall the name off the top of my head) that sounds like it'd be what you're after.

Oh, did they release the second version of it? I remember from some years back that the first one was mega-slow and clunky. So maybe the second one was improved.

Thank you, SilverGirl! I'll check it out.

Flink does a number of meadows over on Rendo.

However, UltraScenery2 is really superb. It is more like UltraSceneryXT in the way it works, with most of the plants not coming into fleeting existence until the scene is rendered, then they disappear again.

And we have a winner! Flink's Instant Meadow, plus a few add-ons, and I have 99% the lawn that I wanted. Maybe not perfectly perfect, but acceptably close. And, with instancing, FIM is lightweight. I love it.

    Thank you, Richard! You're a scene-saver :)

Glad that, so unexpectedly, worked. It does look like a useful product, and I was considering it as USC came out. However, as USC included trees, at the time I thought USC was more versatile. And, TBH, still do.

Well, it's all about individual goals. Mine was to create a semi-wild lawn around a house, so I'm quite happy with FIM.
