Crash Fatal Error Access Invalid Tag 12744
Daz crashes when I'm hiding/unhiding an asset:
The dialog box reads:
Crash FatalError Access Invalid Tag 12966
The log isn't very helpful
2025-03-03 11:58:43.162 [WARNING] :: \src\pluginsource\DzIrayRender\dzneuraymgr.cpp(376): Iray [FATAL] - DB:DATABASE :: 1.0 DB db fatal: Access of invalid tag 12744
The asset I'm using is New York Clothes Store - Salon
Steps to reproduce:
- Open Daz Studio.
- (Turn on IRAY in one of the viewports)
- Go to Daz Library/Environment/Architechture/Aureilo/New York Clothes Store - Salon
- Open the "New York Clothes Store - Salon" Scene object in to a new scene
- There is now a single root level object in the scene: NEW YORK CLOTHES STORE
- Select it. Create a new GROUP, parent it to selection
- Hide the group
- Fatal crash popup appears. (The tag number changes depending on what assets are made. 12744 is most common.)
- Clicking OK causes the GUI to disappear. Daz Studio is still running according to task manager

Comments
I get this too, please report it to support. Thoiugh to be strict, the crash is apparently in Iray.
It seemed to be an issue of asset definition, AFAIT (tested with DS 4.22 and 4.23) ~~
There're six decal nodes in the scene but they have an identical Node Name. If you rename their Node Names via Edit > Figure > Scene Identification... to make them totoally different, the issue will be gone.
Thank you for spotting that, please do report it to Daz.
Okay!
Tried renaming those nodes. It still crashed. Thanks for the hope, though. :)
I haven't tesated, but are you sure you chnaged the names 9to be unique) not just the labels? The Scene pane shows the labels only, that is why it needs to be done through the Scene Identification dialogue.
Follow this short video : https://mega.nz/file/mfBWgLZZ#XfxaSszHmBCWiIo1CbIfzzeacrk4SDOJzpAogVD93CY
Yeah, I used the scene identification dialogue. I only changed the "Names". And I thought they would be unique: "Iray Decal fix 1" "Iray Decal fix 2".
This time I did exactly what the video did. Still crashing.
