How to save IRAY preview images directly

May I ask, if I have got the desired result in IRAY preview mode, can I save the preview image directly? I don't want to re-render it.

Dear cute PANDA , I can't wait to do the test, there seems to be a small problem, is there any way I can control the resolution of the graph?

  • crosswindcrosswind Posts: 9,555

    No problem !

But you have no way to control the resolution but just Viewport size in DS...on which the saved Draw will depend. If you go to Render Settings > General, choose Active Viewport in Dimension Preset(Global), you'll see the resolution in Pixel Size. That'll be the resolution of the saved Draw.

Certainly, if you have higher resolution from your monitor, e.g. 4K or 8K, the resolution will be much higher proportionally.

By the way, I want to ask about MD, I wonder if I can discuss it here...cheeky
When DAZ's clothes entered the MD, I opened the simulation, and the fabric of the clothes was like a plastic bag that had lost its thickness and texture, which was shaken by the wind and out of my control.crying
How can you control the hardness of the fabric so that it is closer to the texture of jeans or knitwear? surprise

Yea, certainly we can discuss it in here.

Firstly, as for "lost texture", it shouldn't be an issue. You just need to tick the option Write Material Library when exporting OBJ in DS. Then you'll see the texture in MD. (ss 1 ~ 2)  But we usually just manipulate simulation in MD with the garment, having texture is not really that important ....

As for Thickness, imported OBJs in MD will just keep the shape that you can see in DS... If it has "thickness" in DS, it'll have "thickness" in MD. ..( but most of the clothing from this store have no real thickness but just fake ones, e.g. on the edges... except for the "thickness" coming from folded cloth...) .

Then, as long as the geometry of garment is welded in DS, it'll keep welded in MD. When you simulate it, it won't break, and the existing "thickness" should be able to be perserved in most cases. (ss 3 ~ 4) In general, you don't have to care much about "thickness" or hardness of the fabrics.

Well, at the end of the day, it may be still case by case. If you still have any problematic case / product, you can name it so that we may further perform some experiments.

I'm sorry, my description is ambiguous. I didn't mean to mention texture.cheeky
What I care about is how to make jeans in DAZ, when imported into MD, still maintain the hardness and feel of jeans, rather than floating like plastic bags.cool
Your pictures SS3 and SS4 are very good, they look like very standard hard jeansyes, I'm confused how this is done.
If it were up to me, these jeans would look like a silk dress.

TBH, nowadays I rarely send things to MD for simulation because dForce can bring me pretty good results in 98%+ cases. It's fully customizable and controllable in DS.

So, sending things to MD is just a work around. But I still wonder if you want to make Jeans or just simulate Jeans in MD...

I'm not like creating clothes. It's just using MD to achieve what DFORCE can't.
For example, roll up the sleeves of your shirt, roll up your pant legs, and so on.
But from what you're saying, it seems that DAZ's DFORCE has evolved to be very useful?
It would be great if we could solve all our problems in the DAZ.

Right ~ there're always special cases like you said. Depending on the cases, we can send them to MD to simulate, drag 'n push, we can send them to Blender for sculpting. Still case by case.
