Are those items listed as "original creations" canon (i.e., confirmed by the author)? I know many listed celebrities are just speculation, and I get it (though I think there should be a note stating that), but, if this is the case for the "original creations", I think they should be listed as "unknown" and not "original creations."

'Original creations' means that they are not based on anyone but are original characters by artists who normally do look-likes to help with misidentification

I know this, but I wanted to know if each of those was confirmed as an original creation by the respective artist or if it's a speculation.

Considering that in most cases the identification of a figure as a "celebrity" works only with one promo picture and only when one closes one eye and blinks with the other, the designation of "original creation" would be way more fitting for many more so called celebrity lookalikes figures. And "unknown" would mean, that we should every figure made by some of those PAs so be modeled after some "celebrity", which obviously isn't the case. So imho "original creation" is a much more fitting definition.

Of course you are free to contact each and every artist yourself to make sure about a figure being modeled after some celebrity and to what extent if it is important for you. smiley

Well... I wasn’t debating the abstract semantic definition of "original creation." Obviously, in some sense, all models here are original. But given that this thread is dedicated to identifying celebrity lookalikes—and that "original creation" in this context means a character not based on a real person—what I meant was: have these so-called "original creations" been confirmed as such by their authors?

This is especially relevant when dealing with artists known for making celebrity lookalikes, like HID3D or Vicey3D. By "unknown," I meant "unrecognized" rather than inherently unknowable. If the authors haven’t confirmed that these characters labeled as "original creations" truly are original, then calling them that is mere speculation. In that case, "unknown" or "unrecognized" (or whatever term best captures the idea since the meaning matters more than the exact wording) would be more appropriate.

  • no clue about V3D Lydia HD for Genesis 9? First I thought some fusion between Cher & Kaley Cuoco faces.
For V3D Vanessa HD for Genesis 9, my choice is Erin Moriarty

Definitely Phoebe Cates. The bikini render gives it away as to who the inspiration for this one was as it's in line with her famous bikini poster.

Absolutely Phoebe Cates. She even played a character named Christine Ramsay back in the 80s. I had a huge crush on her in movies like Gremlins 2, Drop Dead Fred and the legendary Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

Next we definitely need a Grace Park!

    Agreed Phoebe Cates for me.

  • HID's Ramsey is hilarious also because of that moment in Gremlins 2 where Phoebe Cates' character Kate recalls a traumatic story about someone dressing up as Lincoln on Lincoln's birthday.  That movie is delightfully insane, and that's an intriguing coincidence to release her on President's Day.  wink

I can see Phoebe Cates. Although, I can see a young Kelly Clarkson inspiration perhaps.

I think they need to start releasing custom smiles with these look-a-likes.  Otherwise, their creations just fall flat.  If they have tools to create HD morphs, why not use them?

HID3D's models come with custom smiles.  I have many of them-there's only a handful that don't.  And the smiles are easily interchangable between his figures, so it works.

I would disagree they look flat. HID's characters are some of my favorite available. It used to be Mousso, but for me HID has surpassed them in quality.

I thought I looked it over, but had to give it a double-look, hiding at the end:

Absolutely agree.  I think HID's characters are the best lookalikes I've ever seen.  Also, one of the unique things about his products are the foot morphs.  Lots of foot shapes and sizes as an added bonus.  I'm not sure if they're true to the models themselves but at least you get some variety for your ladies' feet.

They are okay... but for me it's Sangriart doing the best lookalikes - too bad that there's not so many, though.

Using different skin textures and some minor morph adjustments, Ramsey could be used as Paulina Gaitan.
