Sculptris/Poser woes!

I just spent nearly two hours in sculptris working on a head morph for g2m
I exported the mesh I wanted
then went ot edit it in sculptris
now I can't load it back into Poser because the morph as 'inncorrect number of vertexes'.
But I can load the freshly exported one
How did this happen?
I didn't move the head or anything...
All I did was move parts around and I didn't have symmetry selected.
I did have 'detail' turned on at some point in some brushes because if I didn't for some reason absolutely nothing happened? Which doesn't make much sense because I have used sculptris in the past and it was working fine until I turned symmetry off and even when I restarted several times I wouldn't be able to do anything without upping hte 'detial'.
Did that break the mesh?
But why wouldn't it load period?
i've made morphs before so it's not liek this is a one time thing for me
It's worked in the past and now suddenly it doesn't.
The only difference being I used G2M not M4.
But I did already edit one for G2M just slightly but not as much as this one.

Genesis morphs can only be loaded in DS and exported at base resolution from DS. No genesis content can be created in Poser.
I'm not an expert, by any stretch, but I think the trick to using Sculptris for morphs is to turn "detail" all the way down so that dynamic tesellation is essentially disabled.
I bought a tutorial from winterbrose (on rendo) at one point, and that seemed to be the magic. Symetry even works.
Yes AFAIK touching the symmetry button will break the mesh ... it "does" something to the mesh to make it symmetrical.
I use D/S and Hexagon, washing the model through Hexagon to get it to Sculptris.
D/S > bridge to Hexagon > export > import into Sculptris > morph > export out > import back into Hexagon ignoring the mats/shading domains completely - just delete the old starter and rename the morphed item EXACTLY as the proper figure ... shoot it back over the bridge to D/S and make the morph. Save the morph. And while I do not have it memorized, there is a way to then convert these morphs to work in Poser.
I know the symmetry being touched will break the mesh but I turned the symmetry off and then loaded the morph target
Then please explain to me why this worked before with G2M
I usually have it down but it seemed like nothing was happening at all when I ried to use it
It doesn't work at all. Poser doesn't save the dsf format required for saving morphs for genesis.
I think "detail" is adding vertices - which is bad for Poser/Dazstudio figures, because it breaks the number of vertices ...
okay but it DID
and it HAS.
and I'm not exactly loading it in the way that you probably think I am
edit:
here's the proof.
That's what I was thinking happened
I guess I'm just gonna have to figure out why the brush isn't working suddenly...
Ok, now attempt save the morph you created alone, clear the scene and load another genesis.
Do you see where your morph is saved? Better yet, how do you access that morph with injection file? How do you distribute that morph if someone else wanted to use it? You can't, and that's not opinion it's fact because of the genesis framework.
You don't do content development in Poser at all, because it doesn't directly support genesis and the DSON specification because it isn't native in Poser. And it's been that way for years. And don't just rely on my word, go ask any PA/Vendor that has made genesis items. You don't make them in Poser, you develop it in DS, save it and generate the PCF files to access those files in Poser. The only thing you would use Poser for is to make the shaders or materials.
I honestly don't care if it isn't listed like that because I don't ever want to redisturbute my morph
These are my morphs for me only
there's no point in me distributing them
I know what you're saying but it's wrong in the way you assume you know what i'm trying to do
if it works for me it works like this then this is how I'm gonna do it and this is how I'm gonna keep doing it just like I did with m4
and I know that if I did reload genesis
what I could do is reload the morph target again like I did this one :/
Just so you know that you're doing them improperly and you will keep reloading them and not all the poser tools will work properly with a genesis modified as such. I've been doing genesis content (specifically male content) that also works in Poser the same time the DSON importer has been out, so I wouldn't so easily discount what I'm telling you.
I won't keep reloading them because I have my genesis characters saved in the library so I load them when I need them
so that I don't have to reapply their skins and hair and everything they have attached to them
so I load the morph target and dial it in and then save them to the library
so far it's been working just fine with this character
So I can't see why it wouldn't work fine with the next one.
That's not the way to do it, and that's all I'm going to say. And if they aren't done properly I don't see how anyone can help you with issues you will eventually come across if you don't do it correctly. I can't expend the effort to help, so good luck.
they already more or less have
the problem was because of sculptris adding vertexes.
for some reason my sculptris is acting up.
