Hi, have somebody tried a pose converter yet? V4 to G2F for example? And did it work well?

Comments
I've tried it going from V4 to Genesis1 and thought it worked pretty great so far. May be the single item purchase that might actually shift me to using Genesis stuff more as I can now take advantage of my vast library of V4 poses. I'm hoping there will soon be an M4 converter too.
I bought Genesis 2 to Genesis 3 Pose Converter as soon as it was released, and it converted most of my G2F poses to G3F; the ones it had most issue with were the Zeddicus poses with multiple sub-folders for partial poses (arms, hands, etc.). Overall, I thought it did fairly well, but hands did not convert nearly as well as I had hoped. Still, that alone allowed me to leverage much of my G2F pose collection immediately, so it was a very good purchase in my opinion.
Something else to consider is that poses might be able to be applied without using a converter. This is very hit-and-miss, of course, and at least some minor tweaking will be required every time. For example, I find that V4 poses work really well with Star, with the exception of the hands. I have also used V4 poses on other standalone figures to varying levels of success.
Well I find that a lot of M4 poses for example work very well for V4 and let v4 look more natural than with some poses made for her :) Also some poses for g2f work really well for G3F without converter except the arms and hands :(
is it easy to convert the poses? How one have to manage that?
Handy Dandy from Slosh resolves this issue. If you have it, use the G1 to G2 preset on the converted poses, and it will give better hand results.
I have just use your converter from v4 to g2f. In the folder I have selected were over 100 poses for v4.2 but converted were only 32
What set or poses was this?
If I remember correctly, the only ones that get converted are those in native Studio formats and not .pz2. If you load up V4, pose her with the .pz2 versions and resave them to .duf, then they'll convert to whatever.
I love the v4 to gen 2 converter. I too use m4 poses and it converts them quite well. I converted my whole poser pose folder over night and it got most but not all.
The converter supports pz2 format but not p2z.
Then I am in error. My apologies.
I tried it and converted most of the poses I had. If you have a lot of poses to convert it will take a while as in many hours. You could be converting for more than a day if you have thousands. As far as how well they convert, standing poses convert pretty well, I'd say 95% to 99% on the mark, laying down and sitting will need some adjustments.
a bunch of self created poses
Well if I create a v4 pose in ds4.8 for example and save it as a deprecated pose preset for example can this pose be converted or not?
So If I load a v4 and create a pose, how can I save it as a pz2 format to convert it to g2f and to g3f?
You don't save it as a .pz2, you save as normal Studio .duf pose preset, the convertor can read both .pz2 and.duf.
Have you tried the free Poser Format Exporter script in ther store? That saves poses (pz2, hd2, and fc2 files).
ah okay, then I think I have the problem, have saved the poses not as pose .duf but under deprecated pose preset .ds maybe that is the error.
maybe I have the error. Have saved the poses under deprecated pose preset .ds not under pose preset .duf
Is there also a pose converter from g3f to g2f?
Fairly pointless right now. Vast majority of poses are not G3F.
Nope yet. If g3f is posed extreme probably there isn't a good or at least decent conversion to g2f. If you don't want an extreme pose then, like Lars says, you have a lot of poses from generation 3 to generation 6 for G2F to search, using directly (gen 6) , zev0/draagonstorm products (gen4/gen5) or rendo posemaster (gen3).
Whoa, just saw the new animation converter from V4 animations to Genesis1 and Genesis2F. What does it convert though? Aniblocks? Pz2 animation files? Something else? Very interested in this but want to make sure of exactly what it does first.
Looking closer at the promo pics, looks like you have to have your V4 in the scene, with whatever animation you want already applied, and if it's aniblocks it needs to be baked into keyframes first (I'm guessing) and then you copy and paste it with the script onto your Genesis figure that's also in the scene, but in zeroed out t-pose...
Anyone tried this yet to confirm how well it works and if I'm understanding correctly?
It takes your timeline and copies V4 frame by frame to Genesis(2F). So you can import a pz2 (and make it a DS animation; the converter does not accept the blMilWom_v4b as V4.2) or take animate2, bake it to timeline and then you can convert it.
On my computer it takes about 1 second per frame.
So far the conversions I tested are quite good, not perfect.
