Just another sales victim - had three rev points yesterday, purchased a qualifing item last night. Meter showed correctly - four rev points after purchase but this morning... back to 3. I've submitted a ticket, but the fact that it's a holiday weekend... not holding my breath. Oh well, no spending = more money in the bank.

I can pretty much guarantee if you buy things at the wrong discount, they'll give you store credit for anything you were overcharged for.  I realize this isn't much good if you don't have the cash to allow for "overcharging-then-refunding," but I will say that DAZ's customer service has always been very, very good to me.  Slow, perhaps, but always willing to help and fix mistakes.

I hate this.  I had a family emergency and was away from the internet for 2 whole days.  My rev up dropped from 4 to 2 and there is NO WAY to get it back to 4!  I can't earn 2 in a day.  I can't get more than a 3. And it makes me REALLY ticked.  REALLY ticked. I feel like buying 2 RevUp items should, you know, REV UP your counter twice.

I don't usually complain, but THIS irritates me.

I feel you. I have also had a family crisis and missed out on a day and even though I bought an appropriate item and jumped back up to 40, I lost it the next morning. It seems like since you can only rev up once a day, you can never get caught up if you miss a day. That doesn't seem right.

  • Yesterday I bought an item which got me from 2 to 3.  Today it dropped to 2.  Has the store ever been consistently NOT glitchy for a period of at least a week?

Good news:  It has since been explained to me that the Rev-Up meter should actually be able to go up.  If you bought an item yesterday, your meter won't drop.  If you then buy an item today, your meter will rise by 1.  Do this a few days in a row and it should rise steadily.  Key word: "should."  I've discovered that my meter is falling every morning regardless of what I do.  I've opened a ticket with Customer Service and I'm tracking what they owe me.  frown

It seems to be working fine for me, and giving me extra discount as I bought additional items one day; thought I'd let you guys know it can work correctly. Check your timezones, and then check your emails for when you actually bought stuff.

I worked out what time I need to purchase by to qualify as that day's purchase.

Same here also, yesterday I was at 30%, bought an item to bring me back to 40%, and then this morning I am back at 30% again. The item I bought was http://www.daz3d.com/everyday-for-genesis-3-female-s which was new that day. The same thing happened to me the day before. Are these being sorted out generally, or do I need to raise a ticket?

There is a glitch definitely, I've purchased stuff early in the day and still had it take the point away the next day, suprisingly my meter stayed at 4 for a change instead of going back down buy I'm not going to get my hopes up, I'm not really upset in the fact I have to pay more, there's not much of a difference from the 30% or 40% on the items I buy, it's just annoying seeing the meter go back down when it should be full.  I'll check on break and see of I'm still at 4 of if they took it down to 3.

I am having the same problem; bought a qualifying item yesterday to get back to 40%, now at 30% today. Does the "reduce REV-UP" algo kick in at the START of the day, instead of the END of the day? 'Cause that would explain a lot about the problem.
  • HavosHavos Posts: 5,596

If the reduce REV-UP kicked in at the start of the day it would be impossible to get beyond 1 rev. However that seems to be happening to people at 4 revs

  • I thought I did two purchases yesterday but it is now at 3 rev ups,

  • KharmaKharma Posts: 3,214

I purchased Greta for G2 late yesterday which put me at least to 3 even tho I should be at 4 due to lost rev day before and am still at 3 today so at least I didn't lose any revs overnight but am still missing 2 for prior purchases as I only didn't purchase a qualifier on one day.  Guess we will have to wait until tomorrow to see if our support tickets are recognized?

It's amazing to see how DAZ, every weekend after one their big sales start, just seems to leave the office saying 'well, surely everything will go fine while we're not looking.' and then, every single time, there is some sort of catastrophic bug during that time. Didn't Einstein say something about repeating the same thing over and over and expecting different results?

Even if everything is fine and things just seem wrong, a little reassurance that the system is working as intended would go a long way. I mean, if I think there's a problem where I work, I do call my boss or whoeever else can fix it. Even if it's 3am on Christmas Eve.

Not to mention that, while I am sure DAZ will try and make things right for the people who send in a ticket, what if not everyone who gets burned sends in a ticket? Given that the forums, as we are told over and over again, only represent a small minority of the community, how many people don't know, don't notice, don't think of sending a ticket when a problem like this arises? And how many don't feel like having to do work (writing a help request) for something they didn't mess up and just never shop here again? Point is, I just cannot imagine this being any sort of viable business practice.

Add me to the list participating in the greatest "Groundhog Day" sale ever. Had 2 revs Saturday morning, bought a featured item, moved up to 3 revs. Sunday morning, back down to 2. Buy a featured item, finally moves to 3 later in the day. Monday morning, lists 3 revs then changes to 2 revs about 10:30 EDT. No way to break the cycle with the store using Daz math (2 + 1 = 2).

  • Same here. The only day I didn't get anything so far was the 5th, which dropped me to 30%. Bought Aeon Soul's outfit yesterday and it went up to 40% just fine, but today I'm showing at 30%.

Not to mention this screws up your gift card purchasing too. If you buy a gift card and don't get the discount you've earned, be sure and remember to demand that difference also be credited!

So sorry to hear you folks are having so many problems.

Awww yisss, I got fixed, bought a little something today to keep me at 40%. Let's hope this stays fixed!
  • KaribouKaribou Posts: 1,325

Weird -- my meter didn't fall today.  After my purchase, it finally went to 4, which  makes it correct for the first time since 9/4.  Bizarre.  I've updated my support ticket, but it sure would be nice if the sale didn't malfunction randomly!

You might want to check your Rev's... Mine has been fixed. I'm back to 4! Hurray!

Now I'm in a panic - how long will it last? A minute, five minutes, the rest of the day... Quick - buy something! AHHHHH... (as she throws her hands in the air and runs around the desk screaming...)

What does this actually mean, practically speaking? I have 4 Rev-Ups at the moment - does that mean that even if I don't buy anything for 3 days I'll still have 4 Rev-Ups? (The first one would now expire on the 6th day from it's acquisition, i.e. in 3 days time from now?)

After some thought, I think that's it, but given this is the first mention of the original '4 day' rule, (Far as I can recall, it simply said don't buy on a given day and you lose a Rev) people might be confused and think they don't have to buy for six days. So two days grace, then buy again or lose a Rev? But then all the other revs I earned sequentially will expire daily, so I'll have to start buying daily again? My head is spinning lol

If going in to today you have 4 REVs and today you don't purchase a qualifying item, then tomorrow you lose 1 for not buying.  And lets say that one of your other revs was earned 6 days ago, then tomorrow you also lose a REV for its expiry.  So tomorrow you'd be at two, in this example.

I think that's how it works.

Anyhow, thanks DAZ for reinstating my lost REV and for upping the REV validity period.  Kinda confusing, but I'm finding value in this sale structure, moreso than last year.  (That said, I still prefer the straight 70+% off sales!)

Whilst the new rules (ie revs expire after 6 days) seems more generous, it is actually a bit worse than what we thought it was before. Under the old rules you only need to buy a rev every other day to stay at 4 since a purchase gave you a point and protected it for the following day. Now you will have to buy 4 every 6 days instead of 3, making it a poorer deal in a way.

ETA apologies I meant to quote Tom

Hold on, there's nothing in the new rules about losing a Rev-Up for not buying anything - only for them expiring after 6 days.

The original rules specifically mentioned that you "Lose 1 REV-UP each day you don't [purchase a qualifying release]"

The new rules only talk about REV-UPs expiring, not being lost by any other means. So it shouldn't be possible to lose more than 1 REV-UP in any one day.

With the revision you don't lose for not buying. Every day you buy one or more qualifying items you get a Rev, which lasts for six days. Your additional discount is 10% per Rev, up to 40%. So you can skip days (up to 2) and still get the full 40% extra discount. Expiry is purely by time elapsed.

Thank you, Richard, for that clear statement - I think (I hope) I understand it.

  • RedzRedz Posts: 1,459

Im assuming all our revs are the same now (as the bundle buyers extras will have expired.) Under the old system, I bought on day 1,2,3,4 and earned 4 revs. On day 5 if didn't buy, I'd lose a Rev.

But now the validity is extended, so my revs are good for two more days, therefore if I don't buy again after two days of no buying (day 7), I lose a Rev every day?

This would mean 2 days grace, but four days in a row, two days grace etc? To stay at 4 revs?
