I mean, I can think of 1 Scott hero...but he's not very prominent.
Why not Bruce? used by 2 major heroes.
Why not Clark? used by 2 as well.
Peter? pretty well known.
Chris, even. Did you know Marvel has 3 blonde Chris's starring in their movies?
edit:..ok in thinking about it, I realized..oh right Ant Man just came out so besides Scott Summers, people now know Scott Lang....

Scott Summers, aka Cyclops? Also, Scott Lang, aka Ant-Man?
ETA: Scott Free, aka Mr. Miracle in DC. Also Alan Scott, aka Green Lantern, also DC.
Scott Tracy?
Because when they end up giving him away, they can advertise him as being Scott Free.
He would need a supermarionation mouth morph for that. :)
Oh, and not yet mentioned: Scott Pilgrim, but it should also be noted that he bears more than a passing resemblence to a young Scott Bakula.
Oh boy!
Yes, particularly the current CGI remake. That struck me immediately upon seeing the somewhat cartoon caricature appearance of "Scott" and related content.
I infer a side step from something originally resembling a copyright infringement.
.
Any time I think of Bruce, I think of a gay character. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
holy hole in a donut batman !!!
I'm disappointed you don't recall Doctor Brown's immortal words... I'm pretty sure this is a 'Back To The Future' play on words. ;)
heh, my old homeroom (english and history...) teacher used to complain that gay people had turned Bruce into a gay name. Somehow.
He was a psychopath though :D
As for the topic, I'm not sure DAZ actually comes up woth their names just by reference.
<snrk>
Wish I could remember where I once found a site of what-were-they-thinking-back-then Golden/Silver Age comic clips. I remember coming across one panel of Robin posing dramatically on a rooftop while expositing to himself: "Batman told me his plan only had a chance of working if I stood up here and exposed myself"...

That actually is why on the Hulk tv series he was "David Banner" rather than "Bruce Banner".
And then Springstein became The Boss, and everything changed.
My recollection is that 'Bruce' as a 'gay name' was something mainly promulgated by Johnny Carson.
I am sure that my Ex-Husband, my Uncle, my eldest son, my ex's Uncle, my youngest grandson and all the other Bruces that I know will be so pleased.
Getting back to the original subject of this post, how about Ridley Scott?
Cheers,
Alex.
Whenever 'Bruce' is referenced, I think not of a crime-fighter, but a certain mechanical shark.
I think of Australian philosopher professors.
I think of ELO,
Don't bring me down, Brrrrrrruce!
I believe the term "Great Scott" precedes Back to the Future by several decades. It may have been a common exclamation in th 40s, but Clark Kent's publisher used the phrase frequently.
Why not? : D
But can we be sure that wasn't the result of meeting the owner of a strange gull-winged car? Time-travel can be tricky.
Perry White's catchphrase was "Great Caesar's Ghost". But the earliest extant citation of "Great Scott" dates back to 1856 (which even predates BttF 3).
Yeah, but you know DAZ's view on "Peter"...
Only if you buy the pro bundle.
