The new icon nice but I guess I don't understand why they changed it, although I like the fact the website is more mobile friendly

new logo matches the Morph3D one. Sadly, Daz 3D doesn't have a good font choice like Moprh 3D. Maybe they should borrow the font treatment?

    Thoughts?

It reminds me of a cartoon character from many years ago, an eagle I think, some sort of bird anyway.

    YES!!!!

    Someone else does see it!

    Beaky the Buzzard...

"I'm bringing home a ba-by bum-ble-bee" - I can see where you're coming from - it could also be a technicolor Oswald the rabbit with his floppy ears.

    It really doesn't scale well.

Scaling is one of the most important aspects of a company logo--instant shape recognition at any size, and it should work in black and white (not all viewers will see it in color).  If it doesn't have those elements--it's not an effective logo.  And it looks like a fish to me (although I do see the face).

it does not appear to be a logo designed by a graphic desginer with formal training, meaining they have the skills, but not the science.

What it looks like is directly dependent on the number of consumed adult beverages....

Actually--when I see the logo in black and white (or maybe more like grey on white) in Richard's avatar--it works a lot better.  I think I prefer it without the colors (which end up confusing the shape).  My suggestion is that they go mono color with it so it doesn't remind people of "Finding Nemo."

I think losing the weird globbiness of the tentacle hair would have made a huge difference... The face can make sense... The whatever that is in back of it there is just confusing... Especially in color...

I just had a terrible thought... What if this is to make a transition into selling aquarium products?... Just change the human face to a fish and its Daz Aqaurium Supplies Inc... If they left it all capitals, Definitive Aquarium Zone could have worked...

I'm wondering... Is the globby mess in back supposed to be a "3" and maybe the curvature of the face a "D"...?

    If so... Wow.

    Not good wow... Just wow.

I previously suggested that next time they redesign the logo, they make a design contest here using submissions from users... But I have a better one... How about a "What the hell were we thinking" or "What do you really think this is supposed to be" contest...

Come on... There HAS to be an answer to this... What did they think it meant... What did they see...? I need resolution.

I see a fancy potato chip strutting... Look at it and you'll see it too...

I am waiting for the 3D printable model of it, it looks like something Cubify would release for earings and keychain charms.

Okay, my personal favorite theories are "pangea" and "bar napkin doodle."

But am I the only one who sees the "3D" in the left, blobby part?  The hand-shaped part that's scratching Richard behind the ear resembles a "3," and the red arc behind the face reminds me of a capital "D."

And I totally agree that the Morph 3D logo looks like a multicolored jogging potato chip. Which, now that I think about it, perhaps says more about ME than the logo...

Exactly what I was going to say. It's just an ugly little blob on the thumbnails in the store.

For 3D printing the logo, wouldn't you need the kind of 3D printer capable of producing a dimensionally accurate tesseract, Klein bottle, or blivet?  wink
