So, do we have an actual list or matrix of compatability between G2F and G3F, going both ways?
Like Clothes, Morphs, poses, etc?

Clothes via autofit: Yes
Morphs: Kinda mostly, via Transfer Utility.
Poses: Yes, if you don't maind making adjustments that the Pose Coverters can't automatically.
Textures: No, unless you want to go through a huge thing with Blender and preprojecting morphs. Completely different grouping from the old V4 setup that is more compatible for games.
Eye textures are the exception- those seem to go in both directions without issue.
they both work in games...it's just the new setup is more logical than it was historically. This isn't just for games. If you wanted to say anything about games you would use texture atlas to reduce the amount of textures, and it doesn't work on G3 without some extra steps. The whole gaming thing is overblown and people who haven't been working with game assets for years are confused.
But what direction does this go?
Both, typically. G3F poses don't play as well with G2F because the heirarchies are different, but I believe there's a converter going backwards. Textures in either direction will require the same procedure, and you have to be careful what kinds of morphs get transferred. Because the polycounts are different, you'll get some odd artifacting and/or deformation with some of the more extreme morphs. There's a thread or six on morph and texture transfers if you're feeling ambitious.
Eyes are all good, and to get clothes to go backwards, you'll need to make a G3F clone. Several people have already.

There are exsiting clone products that do G3F all the way down to Generation 4, and G2F back a couple two generations. The only one you'd need, would be a G3F for G2F, and there's a thread here started by Kattey that will tell you exactly how.
I have used a few other generations poses on g3 of course you gotta adjust fix them just like with using v4/genesis poses on g2 but vevo/draagonstorm created plugins to convert these to work properly, facial expressions may be a different thing altogether. Bought one plug in Wear Them All - Autofitting Clones and Clothing Smoothers for Genesis 3 Female(s) this works great as can use v4, genesis clothing on g3 females as well as already being able to use g2 clothing. Couple other products don't have yet is Sickleyield's SY Ultra Templates for Genesis 3 Female(s) which adds extrabones/fitting to capes, loincloths and dresses from past generations allowing from mu unstanding to pose them better on g3 and then there's this product Genesis 3 Female for Genesis 2 Female(s) which allows to use g3 clothing on g2 females
I know at least one user has clones back to Generation 3, and with the mentioned products would cover more than 98% of my content library.
