I can do what's needed in PS, but would apprecate any suggestions to give my G3F tanlines.

Beyond the necessary lightening to the diffuse, you'll want to remake your specular and SSS maps to suit.
I can see redoing the SSS maps because different colors of skin scatter differently, but how pronounced is the difference of specularity between normal and tan on the same person's skin? Is the tan more reflective, or the pale skin?
No more than you'd get for very lightly-colored skin in the sun. "Blindingly white" comes to mind...
Tanned people dont' stand out as much in bright light as someone that's spent most of their lives indoors and covered up. So it would stand to reason that areas of skin that are lighter than other bits would do the same.
Trust me, I know that one all too well.
I'm one of the "blindingly white" people. My 'tan' is barely visible after I burn to a crisp and peel three times, so I've not been privy to changes in reflectivity caused by increased melanin, lol
You and me both... :)
Anyonr got a tut or list of things to do? I can't get it right.
If you use DS 4.8 it is important that you use "catmark" as SubD Algo for your G3F then you can use a tan line product which works with a geometric shell, I have it and I think it is really good. If you use DS 4.9 it is (should) not be important which SubD Algo you use.
The tan line product is "Tanline for G3F" by poisen at renderotica
