Hello,

Since the DIM I have a lot things to download via the DIM but I have no clue if I have to download both, DS and PS content.

For example:

West Park Aliments DS

West Park Aliments PS

do I have to download both or just the DS File?

The DS file is for DAZ Studio, the PS file is for Poser. If you don't use Poser (or in some cases Carrara) you don't need the PS file. Hope this makes sense.

Sure, the question was because of some older products I have and for them it seems one need both, the PS file because of the geometry and so and the DS file just for the textures.

I think the ones you're referring to would be much older.

The other question is, there are files with just the name and then the same file for studio CF? Also just the file with the name or both? What means studioCF?

Thats what I thought too........until I purchased this:

after d/l and install (with Poser filtering off) I found out half of the needed props were missing.

errrrr, or is that with Poser filtering "on."? I mean, I stopped the Poser content from d/l because while I have Poser, I don't use it. For some reason some of the needed props were in PS format. surprise

Some content history is in place:

In the beginning, there were only "food" as all the food from the DAZ noodle booth was for a guy named Poser. Then a new pal showed up, he was called Studio, and he had a somewhat different taste than Poser, he liked some things more spicy and some less drenched in ketchup, so chefs at DAZ started to create two flavours of the food in the DAZ noodle booth, the basic food, and then added a extra side order for this new guy named Studio. This is how it was for several years, as Poser has some problems with his eyesight, if he found a peperoni on his pizza he just had to eat it, and then he went ill. Poser then grew up, got a new set of glasses, and could see that this is a peperoni, I will not eat it. Newer dishes now contained everything, and the Poser guy ate what he liked, and the Studio guy what he liked, and everything was great. The old dishes though came in many small boxes with the Poser food and then some extra peperonies for Studio in a side box. Over the years, some chefs have translated thier recipies as Poser now has new glasses, so they contained everything, but there still are dishes which comes with meat marked Poser and the peperoni maked Studio..

Thats what I did. I was going to buy one but a friend said he had a 2 tb he'd give me for free. Within the next 3 weeks I will be forced to transfer all my daz content to it.

well, I have just a laptop and do not want to change something right now, so I have to wait until I buy me a new machine :) but it is okay, I have already 220 GB free :) so enough space so far, but my new machine will have much more than my old has right now, that is for sure :)

The bad thing is, I have a lot of scenes I already use, that have the old content path from DS 3.1 and it would be much work I guess to change all of them to the new pathes so I have to have to installed contents :(

Did you set your Download Filters on the "Ready to Download" tab in DIM to only the software you use?  That will hide the files you don't need.

Studio CF = DAZ Studio companion file. A "Studio CF" file usually only includes DS MATs and you'll need the Poser file for the "real" objects.
