Can't click check button to disable select in viewport.

Like the title says  . The arrow with a check next to it. No matter how much I click, it never changes to the arrow with an X next to it. And the eye doesn't work either.

What do I do?

    You mean clicking on the node of Room or its sub-nodes, like Floor, Ceiling ?
