Looking for Space Uniform?

I'd like a Starfleet like Uniform that will work with MG figure. The options thus far seem quite long in the tooth: Mos Invastion's version by Porsimo, the Concord Navy by Gorodin, The New Adventure by Uzulite. I bought Mos Invasion when it was on sale the other day but it will not fit to M6. Any other options out there?

Thanks. I guess this one will work in a pinch.

It's great that it fits M6, but not so great that it has that low-res look of many older genesis wardrobe items. It's like in the future they only have plastic wrap for fabric. Maybe I can mess with the settings and colors a bit. Thanks again for the suggestions.

NVent3D does a lot of Star Trek style uniforms, they're available on Vanishing Point and Renderosity, many of which fit M6 and V6. Also, check out http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/55888/ - DAZ's official Trek Thread, it has tons of links to different trek related items.

Thanks…didn't know about that thread and have never ventured beyond Daz for Content. I'll check out those sites.

Yeah, I have this and a little meh about how it works with females. Really need to get Fit Control and see how I can improve it.

Just wish some of these uniforms had a fabric/woven texture to them. There are a lot of fantasy costumes that have a variety of texture: leather, metal, mesh, woven…but not so much with the si fi stuff.

Interesting to look at that site Vanishing Point. I can't understand why anyone that created a daz-compatible product wouldn't be selling it on the Daz site. Do they take too big a cut?

Hi, I'm looking for a sci-fi uniform, could be vaguely Starfleet-ish though not a direct copy of a Trek uniform. Ideally something that is compatible with Genesis 2 Michael 6. I've found that many older uniforms lack much detail in terms of fabric texture and as I'm trying for a more realistic look I'd welcome something with a bit of visual interest.

This is in the ballpark, but is very close to Trek and I don't think fits M6.

I think you just about have the gist of it in your question. Now granted it's been almost a year since the last time I bothered looking. Practically everything I could fined was for generation4 (or older), and almost none of it was for Daz Studio. I have noticed a few ships appear since then, that (for the most part) work in Daz Studio. I have since then stopped looking.

Seeing that G3F is now out, there is a slim hope that possibly generation6 may in theory get some stuff that dose not rely on the Auto-Fit (that doesn't always work).

Now don't be in to much despair. There is that Ambassador outfit, and the G-suit-2 at the Daz store.

    http://www.daz3d.com/ambassador-for-genesis-2-male-s
Just realy cool looking, and it dose have some zones to work with the mats and stuff. I posted a few screen-caps of the zones in it's thread.
    http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/49552/

    http://www.daz3d.com/g-suit-2-hd
It has been fitted to G2M without much grief at all, and there is lots of zones to work with.
    http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/48694/

Post about the Gsuit2 on G2M, and discussed further...

There is some stuff mentioned here as well, more G2M cloths.
    (Never mind, threads merged)

Oh, and there is that Startrek thread around here some where, and a set of links. Then again, still nothing listed ther post gen4, :-/
    http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/45645/
Looks like the list dose go for a few posts, still looking... Found some G2F and G2M poses, no outfits yet... It looks like there are two links hinting at 'Prototype WIP' G1M/G1F uniforms, yet I'm not seeing anything other then that.

Thanks for the tips. I'd seen that Ambassador outfit but the gold filigree details are a bit over the top for my use….more Flash Gordon than Trek/Battlestar. Maybe they can be turned off?
I haven't experimented with shaders before and that shader set may also be a solution.

I kind of thought similar, that or for as it is named. I could see Adama wearing that, lol.

Looking at the one PD Smith texture set, that has a working link, it looks like the texture maps are all there. I just have no clue what "Defiant" outfit was referred to that they go on. And, it is in "DSB" files, whatever that is, lol.

So, G1M/G1F has something. G2M... well it is all auto-fit or F/M cross-fit options, with some add-on texture sets.

    ".dsb are binary DS scripts"

Can you explain what this means?

  • fixmypcmikefixmypcmike Posts: 19,696

They are .dsa or .ds scripts that have been compressed. If they were made in DS2 they could also be encrypted, but they're probably just compressed.

This might do the trick…with some customized colors and shader-fabrics.

So they are Daaz Studio files, and probably don't need the Poser surface shader settings fudged into something that looks good in Studio. (sigh of relief).

This is sound just as good, as trying to make a texture mask of sorts for the Gsuit2, as they both still need to be auto-fitted to M6. If your a PC+ member, the Defiant outfit is a realy good price, and that link for the texture set dose work.

Warning tho, Allot of stuff there is for Poser, and thus the results in Studio may very (like the millennium falcon landing gear doors, lol)

You can always post the name of the uniforms (product) so that they can easily be found via a Google search. That's what I do instead of providing a link.

You can take a look here, NVent3d has several outfits to choose from that would work for you. https://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/vendor/NVent3d  Since there are others posting links here for outfits, this should work.

Very nice, I hadn't noticed these items before. Have to add a few of them to my wishlist.

But...  <headdesk>  what have they done to the new store? I thought it was a bit glitchy when I noticed the new layout earlier, but this is... all over the place.  surprise

Yeah I know what you mean, they just changed their store not that long ago.
