Monster Fight: City Size---who gets the shrink ray?

I'm making a monster fight scene..anime/kaiju style. Right now, my monsters are..person sized and my city is City sized.

What is better? To grow the monsters, or shirnk the city...or hit both @ 50% and get them to meet in the middle?

Two factors: First, any displacement maps will have to be adjusted for changes in scale. Second, there are potential floating point issues (maybe) with VERY big stuff (I hit some problems when attempting to make an O'Neil station to scale, woops)

Definitely not doing both at 50%, because then you will have to make adjustments to everything, instead of just some things.  Leave at least one thing at it's original scale to reduce the work you have to do.

I do scaling stuff all the time since I render a fantasy series based on land of the giants. I use lux render when I shrank my character I would get weird distortions I usually grow objects and giants upwards to 1200% and not have too many problems.
