How do I get M4 genital textures onto the Genesis 1 male genitalia figure? I've searched and found a remapping but it wont work because the base geometry file is not the Genesis 1 male genitalia file. I dont know enough about Studio to be able to make the transfer myself. Lost and could use some pointers in the right direction.

Which one did you find? CauriB has a Male Genitalia Improved figure that she did for original flavor Genesis. You need to have the Genesis Male Genitalia figure that shipped with the M5 Pro Bundle to make it work -- I think the figure has been updated so that it keys on the most recent version of the GenesisMaleGenitalia.dsf file to work (depending on when Genesis was last updated -- if the genitalia was updated after late 2012, then you may have issues there. You'd need to contact her to be certain. Regardless, if you don't have the M5 Pro Bundle, you can't unlock the files inside the zip with RTEncoder.
She talks about it a bit in this thread: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/13880/genesis-male-genitalia-updated
However, the new forum seems to have eaten her sigfile. The file is available at
https://sites.google.com/site/crblackthorne/downloads - the file you want is "Male Gen Improved.zip".
And just for completeness: if you want to use M4 genital textures on Genesis 2, you need this product: http://www.daz3d.com/michael-4-for-genesis-2-male - which doesn't actually need a keyfile, so there's that.
And all THAT said ... if you don't have the M5 Pro Bundle and so can't use CauriB's remap, you can always just parent the original M4 genitalia, Channing Gens, or Ulfgens to the Genesis/Genesis 2 pelvis, which works as well as it did with M4. All of those options can take M4 textures, and Ulfgens is actually free (if very very large). M4 genitalia is in the M4 Pro Bundle or Hero Pack; Channing Gens is in the PoserAddicts shop (I think), and Ulfgens is a freebie at maleposerotica.
Yeah I've already run across CauriB's file. That was the one that I was attempting to use. Apparently the GenesisMaleGenitalia.dsf that I have is the one that came out after she did the encoding so I cant get it to work. I've tried using M4's genitals and Channing's version. I run into parenting issues with Genesis. The geometry gets messed up when I open the file in Carrara Pro 8.5, that's what I use for rendering because I like the set-up. I usually end up having reattach the figure to Genesis once the scene file is imported. I thought about using the Genesis version thinking I wouldn't run into that issue, but it seems it only has the default UVs. You would think they'd set it up with M4 gens UVs as well. I havent ventured to using Genesis 2 yet. I just recently started using Genesis and got most of my characters switched over. In order to move them onto G2, I'd have to get the GenX upgrade and I dont have the funds for that. Nor do I want to go thru the process of getting my characters set up all over again. I ran into some issues with the Genesis transfer and dont want to go thru the stress again with G2.
I'd suggest contacting CauriB and asking her to update her figure to use the most recent DSF, either through PM on the forum or her deviantArt profile or if there's contact information on her site (I didn't see any, so that may not be workable). According to her forum profile, she was last here on August 3, so she does check in periodically. (That said, unless you know what you're looking at/for, the shiny new forum sucks at notifying you that you have new PMs, so a deviantArt note might be your best bet.) She has been very responsive in the past; I asked if she might include Hiro 5's hip UV at one point, and she did that update in less than a day.
I finally got it figured out. At present I'm running Studio 4.7 on both my Windows 7 laptop and my Mac OSX desktop. For some reason the Mac had the correct version of the key file that was needed to decode the file. I tried uninstalling the Genital file on the Windows and then reinstalling thru DIM and still managed to have the same version as I did before. So I just did the decoding on the Mac and then unzipped the necessary files to both platforms. Now to see if that makes any difference when I set up a scene in Carrara. Thanks for the input VWrangler!

I went and downloaded this product after you talked about it...CauriB has a Male Genitalia Improved figure. I was going to decode that RTE file. I have RTEncoder 1.00. Not sure if there is a newer version or not. I was following the help file but then I realized that it never said what to name the decoded file. Or else I am overlooking it. I had the Genesis Male Genitalia.dsf file and it was dated 10/09/2012. Or maybe you are suppose to use the same name and overwrite the file. I'd rather not do that. I thought I could call it something else and then make a copy of the Cr2 and then edit the copy. But then I remembered that this was a duf file. I'm not sure sure how or if you can edit those. I suppose you can. But I don't have a clue how...unless it just opens in a text editor. Would Cr2Edit open it? And how did you deal with this?
I also forgot all about the MalePoserErotica website until I read this thread. I downloaded some of the freebies. There was one called ulf_UG2_RemappedM4 where you have to go through the same routine with different files. it says you will need the ulfgens2.obj found at maleposerotica. But when I go to find that object, in the Runtime/Geometries/Ulfgens folder, the file there is called mgenitals2. I used it to decode the RTE file that was in the zip. It said it ws successful. But maybe the program doesn't care as long as you plug in an obj file. The original obj was 939 KB and the one generated was 506 KB. The instructions didn't say what to call the new object file so I called it Ulfgens M4.obj. But then I realized there was no way to load the new object. I first just tried just importing it, but it was just a prop. So then I made a copy of the Cr2 and used Cr2Editor to edit the two references to the new obj. However, when I double click on the icon for new Cr2 I created, you can't see anything. Just the select box around an invisble object. It has morphs and everything. Not sure if I'm looking in the right place, but it seems like visibility was turned on. So what am I missing? Or am I doing something wrong? Or maybe I just don't have the obj, but mgenitals2.obj was the only obj in the maleposerotica_ULFGens2.zip file. At first my conclusion was that my obj file didn't contain an obj. It is almost half as the size of the original. But then I remember when I imported it, that I saw the object then. It just lacked morphs and bones and such.
Thanks.
If you use the CauriB file, the output file should be a ZIP file. I found that out by accident. One of my issues was that the windows version DUF you're supposed to use to decode it, was different than what the instructions say. But yet my MAC version of the file was the right one. Not sure why the difference in platform DUFs. But eventually I got it to work. Hope this helps.
I may have been wrong about seeing the figure when I imported the obj. I just tried to open the Ulfgens M4.obj in UVMapper and it said there was no facet information.
Thanks, GRFK DSGN. When I decoded the first file, I got a zip file. So then I tried the second file. I think the first one automatically named the zip file. The second one I had to name. The other day when I did it, I assumed it was creating an obj, so that's how I named it. This time I figured maybe it was creating a zip file as well. At first I didn't add the extension, assuming it would want to add it. Afterwards, I had to rename it. Turns out the file it created was a zip file too.
Thanks again.
Yeah I learned that the hard way myself. Maybe if I hadnt had the issue with version of DUF I was using I might have seen it was supposed to be a ZIP file. Or maybe I just missed that in the instructions...
Juvenile humor time: I just realized that because I subscribed to this thread, my e-mail browser now has a long string of headers that read somewhat like this:

Soooooo.... I think I'll just keep that tab closed on my work computer. :)
Could be the reason that it became Toast.

Heh heh heh...
