I've got this and I put the lights in the scene. I used the lighting that comes with the asset and it lights up the area around the lights but how do you adjust the light bulbs so they look like they're on? Right now, they're dark but all around them is a neat warm glow.
How'd they set up the scenes you see in the promo shots?
Thanks!

Are you rendering in 3delight or Iray?
Oops! Sorry, 3delight.
I've got the awesome emitters for iray and that would've been way easy :)
if iray I would ignore any lighting presets and not load them at all and just make all the bulbs an emitter texture, you need to crank em up a lot changing the m2/cm2 setting
I'm not sure how it was done in the promo,,but this is how I do it....
in iray,,
On the Surface tab you select the light bulb and apply the Emissive shader to it and adjust the lumen and emissive color to what you want.
in 3Delight,,,
On the Surfaces tab you select the light buld and apply the Lightpreset>omnifreak>UberAreaLight>!UberArealLight Base and adjust the intesity and color to what you want
and yes,,it's alot of light bulbs to swap over,,I did it once for iray,,I think it took me just over an hour to track them all down and swap them over.
When you apply the UberAreaLight, does that override the lights you apply from the asset? The lighting looks great--I just need it to have a noticable source.
I'm sure it would if it's brighter than the light preset. You might be able to just set the diffuse strength to something like 400% and get a "glow" type effect from the bulb.
In 3Delight, on the surfaces tab, there is a setting for Ambient Color nad Ambient Strength. Setting the Ambient Color to white will make a surface appear to be lit, and adjusting the Ambient Strength will change how bright the surface appears to be.
This, correct...
It's weird, I usually put in a lit material too.. I'll have a look when I get the chance and see where it got to :)
Thanks everyone very much! I appreciate the help. Totally worked!
