Background Q

HeraHera Posts: 1,958

Having a slight problem.

1.  i make a pic with a few props in and I render - background comes out transparent.

2. I add a background to the stuff and render - background comes out with that image. So far so good.

3. I change my mind, remove the background and render again. And now one would think the background to be transparent - but no, it's white instead, and there's no way to get it transparent again, save for starting all over again.

Or is it?

What version of Studio are you using?

Have you tried switching the Background setting to "None" and back a couple of times? I've noticed this sometimes sticks or behaves oddly, and needs a swift kick in the parameter dials to clear the glitch.

That's the reason I asked which version...because it was supposedly fixed, once already.

Update to the current production build, 4.8.0.59, and that issue will be fixed.

Where do I find that one? Will it appear in DIM?

  • Start DAZ Studio, then do HELP>About DAZ Studio.

In my Windows 8.1 system (the one I'm sitting at right now), DIM shows two versions installed, public beta 4.8.0.9, and 4.8.0.59.  My shortcuts all appear to point to the beta one, so I need to uninstall that one and (maybe) reinstall the build 59 version so that my shortcuts will be correct.

If DIM does not show the correct one is installed and it also doesn't show up on the DIM download tab, then you may need to change your settings in DIM so that it will show up for you.
