    ...just saw that.

Picked up the Genesis Supersuit, Supersuit Hero Pack, and Supersuit Cape by using my PC coupon (the cape was a PC item hence I had to pay 79¢, otherwise everything would have been covered by the coupon)

Over 77$ worth of content for 79¢.  One of the best deals I've got in a long time.

Been wating the supersuit for a while. but usually just too expensive on my tight budget..That three month membership just paid back in triple.

Congrats! The Supersuit Pro Suite was my first purchase here at DAZ. Please don´t ask what I´ve paid for all that stuff. :-)

I wish they had saved this sale for next week, when I actually have money. I could have made a significant dent in my wishlist.

Wow, thanks for this, guess I will finally start to transition away from my OCD with Generation 4 models now... NOT to make anyone jelly but here is a screen grab of what I just picked up. Obviously I picked up quite a bit more (both Genesis and Gen4 content) but these are my crown jewels of the purchase. The savings are just unreal! and best part is I spent less than 1/2 of my weekly budget surplus!

I just bought a bunch of stuff for generation 4 figures that I've been wanting for a long time but couldn't justify buying at the normal price when not needed for a specific commission :D

Awesome to get them before they are weeded out of the store completely, at such and awesome price.

This is a 2-hour "blink sale". Products by Denki Gaka are also also on sale, 60% off, but this seems to be a conventional 'flash sale' (meaning that we don't really know how long it will last, but presumably more than just 2 hours).

Streets of old London for 17,18$ jumped in my cart ;)

Just missed the 2 hour 'Blink and you'll miss it 60% off historical sale' (and I may have missed the full and correct title for it too). I must have logged on just before it started, went and had my evening meal (I'm in England) and five minutes before the end it would appear, filled my cart and then it all changed - anyone else see it? Had the Base Camp Bundle, Knight/Drawbridge bundle and Western Town in there at sweet prices. With global members I suspect the bias is still towards US based buyers, was it around lunchtime this ran in central US? Bit miffed, four hours for a Flash sale seems reasonable and DAZ woulda cleaned out my bank acount (so maybe for the best!).  :(

  • bytescapesbytescapes Posts: 1,910

The historical sale has been replaced by a horror blink sale. 2 hours, 60% off.

  • mtl1mtl1 Posts: 1,508

Whew. My wallet is safe for now. Got my items from the historical one, and I don't see anything I want in the horror one.

If they do a sci-fi one, my wallet will *really* cry :)

  • RGcincyRGcincy Posts: 2,862

Too short a sale for me. I saw the historical notice, went to the page, added the items to my cart but no discount when I went to check out. Went back and refreshed the home page and now it's a horror blink sale. I have no interest in horror, so Daz lost out on my $$'s today.

  • Twilight76Twilight76 Posts: 318

sci-fi would be costly i hope not today ;)

Yeah, quite a few historical items I wanted! It ended before I had even finished adding all the ones I could use tot he shopping cart, let alone before I could cull them down to an affordable price. A few horror-related items I don't have and could use, though, however.

Yup, trawled through the Blink Horror 60% sale too and nothing I'm after. Sci Fi 60% could cripple my bank account too. As a member at DAZ since 2003 I rarely get vocal in the forums but this is one of those times. I'm not too keen on the 24/7 special sales policy in effect for some time now, admittedly I've made some major savings and almost mega savings (until DAZ fixed their system). Used to be that the Platinum Club Anniversary in September/October was when the bargains were to be had but unlike the early days of this where there were amazing deals and freebies the Anniversary bundles seem to be repeated, contain previous freebies or the sales push you into collecting points towards bigger or future discounts. Groan. DAZ is a business with great helpful staff and amazing products/artists but a bit more consideration of the end purchasers would be appreciated.

DAZ Can I suggest a timer or countdown on these 2 hour sales so we know when to hit 'Proceed To Checkout' before all our carefully selected items bounce back to full price? Would help, what does everyone else think around the world - we don't know the start or finish times on these sales.

Running a 2 hour sale at a time of day when the vast majority of it's customers will be at work (and therefore NOT scanning the internet constantly to buy things) is not just a bit unfair, it also seems rather un-American.  Is DAZ3D intentionally attempting to sabotage the national GDP?  Write your congressmen!

The problem is that it's already been demonstrably proven that DAZ has no concept of time.  Some "flash sales" run for days, others last just a few hours, and "soon" can mean anything from the next day to eight years. It's much easier to fake the hours on the office timeclock that way.

Good idea. Just for reference, the horror sale is probably a bit more than halfway done currently. I think they may be changing on the hour or just after; @Brysey's "just missed it post" shows up at 3:16PM (for me; I think the timestamps may be configured to show in the timezone of the user, rather than DAZ time, or UTC, or whatever, so the exact time that you see may be different).

So you probably have about 40 minutes left to get the horror items into your cart and checked out, as of the date of this post. Probably.

I'm behind you all the way there. DAZ buyer constitutional rights - of course we could all refuse to buy anything until they rein this in a bit (won't happen though)!  wink

DAZ a timer/countdown should be relatively easy or use a notification '10 minutes to sale end...' and would not be impacted on by timezone etc. its only 120 minutes for a 2 hour one. Okay, if you don't notice the sale (a blink) or  miss it because you logged in at the wrong moment the blink sale is in effect, but once started this would help immensely and up sales as we rush to complete the purchase in time. Four hour sales are not so bad it's a morning, afternoon, evening etc. so some chance you'll catch it unless in bed if you log in periodically through the day.

Yep! Same here (and in the UK too)
Luckily I didnt do my usual, .. click through and straight to 'BUY' without checking the 'bottom line' 'afore completing the transaction..
I noticed the vast difference in the prices, .. went back to the 'Shop' front page, to check if the Blink Sale banner was still there (it was)
Clicked on the banner and was brought straight to the pages, still showing the discounts... but clicking on one of the items I'd got in my cart brought up the item, with the full (no-discount) price.
So I was able to dump the contents of the cart, and saved a few bob.
Not best pleased though, I had not delayed in the shoping, didnt leave the process for any length of time, but still the cart changed it's prices during the action.
Our eCommerce sites (I run/maintain a few for clients) hold the cart prices for a period of time (determined by the shop owner) before making changes like this, and email the shopper of any change, incl. a short explaination for the change.
I hasten to say that I do not maintain any Magento based sites, .... wink

Thanks for your comments. Server side there should be the start/end time (which should be calcuable as elapsed/left when compared with actual time?) presenting it on the pages with the thumbnails, possibly next to the page number pre/next, would help. Uh, Magento is too close to Magneto, that can't be good. wink

I do recall DAZ doing an hourly sale/promotion item change during March Madness(?) many years back but they told us that was going on and to check back. These 2 hour ones are a bit of a tease/nightmare.

Happy for anyone getting what they wanted out of these sales, need to keep a closer eye on the sales myself (probably falling into playing DAZ's game).

Wouldn't know it from the rotating banners — the horror one's gone, but there's nothing up to replace it.  <rolls eyes>

There was a banner, I've reported that it's gone missing.
