There are several other threads around about it.

Morph3d should be nothing more then a dazstudio basic extension.

    'm sick of dying plugins.

Seems like it is targeting non Daz users mostly. Cause limited benefit for those who know whats up. I tried out the free Sci fi dollies and found the 2 sided shaders the most useful thing in the collection. Very useful in fact.

But I see Morph3D filling a void and may be a good opportunity for them. Many are still scared of Daz stuff, and the game community often still talks bad about the figures and how decimation works on them etc etc. Each industry whether its prerendered CG or games has a growing hobbyist or indie community that want stuff done for them on the cheap.

Will be interesting what they do going forward and how they price it. I can't imagine I would have any interest in the assets myself but still curious what it morphs into ;)

I don't know about that, the fact that it is the DAZ company and the ever increasing posts about wannabe game developers wanting to use DS assets makes it pretty relevent IMO. In reading some of the threads at the unity asset store forums, they seem serious about seeing what the need is for game assets and what users want/need. Personally i would have made this venture seperate from DAZ wth no mention of any affiliation due to users wanting to use DAZ assets in addition to Morph3d ones which seem to be developed differently and seem to have different licensing.

As a modeler I have seen my fair share of stolen assets in all 3D communities and have always tried to turn users away from using DAZ assets outside of their licensed uses, so it's good to see DAZ opening an avenue for those that want to take shortcuts and not produce their own assets. Looking forward to seeing where this goes in the future.

I never said it was irrelevant, not useful for me, but there is a demand for more turn-key 1 click solutions yes. I did say I think they are filling a void for some.

I think you missed my update that was posted 30 minutes before you replied :) I guess you had a lot of tabs opened and just got to this one *chuckles*

That one-liner was posted too quickly because I had to run to a meeting, but I came back to elaboarate on my thoughts.

Also the common discussion in the game forums regarding DAZ GDL usually center around if you already have a ton of DAZ original content or not. since many agree the third party GDL are pricey. If you aren't in the right situation then Morph3D might make sense. But you won't know till real packages come out with prices and such.
