Googling the current defination for the slang term Bogo gets this
"BOGO is a new expression used by stores, supermarkets to attract customers with a special offer: buy one item and the second item (same one) for free."
The current promotion is buy one, get one half off. Shouldn't it use something other than BOGO? I know this could be taken as a poor joke, but BOGOHO would be the proper use of the slang. That is Buy One Get One Half Off. I'm not going grammer police (clearly with my sentence structure), but the word currently doesn't fit the sale. No amount of wrangling it will make it fit the current sales. People will automatically think Buy One Get One. It could be argued that it should be BOGOF which would be Buy One Get One Free. The general use of the word has traditionally been buy one get one free and most every other store that uses the slang will keep using it that way. Just saying..... Unless referring to the Danish Island or city in Cepu.

Yes, I completely agree. This is a scandalous mis-use of established advertising jargon! The DAZ Marketing Department should all be flogged!
Actually it should be: BOBSEALTFP (Buy One Buy Something Else At Less Than Full Price)!
I've seen BOGO sales for at least a couple of decades. While it can mean "buy one, get one" with the get one being free, stores in real and virtual have always chosen what the "get" entails: Free, Half-off or whatever. Ultimately, it entails getting a deal, which if you find something else you like that fits the criteria of the BOGO, then it works as intended. I've gone in to stores to take advantage of a BOGO only to find that only the initial product I was interested in was the only thing I ended up buying.
If we're to take issue with acronyms, then for it to be Buy One, Get One Free...it should be BOGOF. Still, I see nothing being done that hasn't been done by any number of stores for a very long time.
