Hello!

How do I make it rain like in this pic? Is this rainfall made by a volymetric camera? And how are the splashes upon the roof created?

RDNA has two nice rain freebies. Check page 7 under 'Free 3D Models'!

I would suspect postwork using something like http://www.daz3d.com/rons-rain in Photoshop.

I guess rain and splashes are made in postwork.

I doubt, you can do such things directly in Daz Studio, yet.

Pretty sure that one was by Nerd3D. He's taken his shop over to Hivewire and is gradually re-releasing it there. I don't think the rain tool has come out again yet.

  • There's also Urban Future 4 Psy District, which comes with rain and fog (and in theory, should work with any outdoor settings).  Kinda expensive at a non-sale price though.

Thanks all - a real good ideas here. The "Urban Future 4 Psy District" I've got and I imagine I can try that on other works as well. I also have a rain prop by Flink.

Using Iray, the fog effect (AtmoCamera or do it yourself) can help create a general sense of rain, but you won't get individual drops or a sense of movement/streaky drops

How do I get the fog effect in Iray? Is there an atmo camera as default or do I have to aquire one?
