"New" indicators

We've added "New" indicators to the forum index page, as you may have noticed. To mark all the forums as read, so you don't see "New" on all the forums, click on the gear icon in the upper right corner of the page, and select "Mark Forums Viewed" in that menu. This will set all forums as viewed and only new replies will show up as "New".

    There's something odd going on between "Mark Forums Viewed" and "Recent Discussions". For the last few days I've used "Mark" just before logging out for the night; shouldn't threads with a new post percolate to the top of the list on the Recent page, so that there's an unbroken sequence of New-tagged threads when I next view the Recent page? That's not what I'm seeing — new-tagged threads gradually become less common, and untagged threads more common, but there never seems to be a sharp cutoff around the time I last used the "Mark" link.

    Come to think of it, why isn't the Recent link showing only new-tagged threads, like all the previous forums did? I can't see the sense in showing a listing of all threads right back to the previous forum switchover.

    Everything works fine with me and all new posts appear at the top of the Recent Discussions page.

    Just one little moan. Can the NEW indicator be changed to a different colour from the ANNOUNCEMENT indicator. When scrolling up and  down the page reading new posts and I pass an announcement I have read I think it is a new post, I don't read it just see the colour, and end up clicking on it again blush
