Custom Shape Loading by Default

ScavengerScavenger Posts: 2,674

Related to a problem I had the other week, I see if I load a G2F figure, and then look in it's shapes in Paremeters, under GenerationX I see a shape I made in GenX.

But only that one...none of the other's I've done.

For a while, that one was loading with all figures..I got it so it loaded at 0 shaping and I thought that was the end of it, but it's clearly still loading, just in a turned off state.

I can't see anything in it's paremeters that are different from others, so why is it there at all?

All moprhs saved as assets load, in the sense of being in the list, with the figure. They don't however load their shapes into memory until set to a non-zero value.

Then why is it in the pannel and none of the others are not?

The picture is from a fresh load of G2F.

Either that pannel should have all the conversions I've done..or none of them.  SOMETHING is wrong.

Umm....yeah, something is wrong.  And yes, it should be 'all of them'.   Unless they show up somewhere else...like under Actor or Hidden (unlikely) they should be THERE.

They're all there in the Shaping pannel and work fine, but there when I select the figure, that's the only one under paremeters.

What does the Parameter Settings look like for that particular morph? (Click the Cog icon to bring up the panel)

I've seen plenty that go the other way around...in Parameters, not Shaping...but don't think I've seen something in Shaping without being in Parameters.

Something I just noticed..this is a body only morph.

I had tried to do a body only one, and a head only, and the full body ones...And I thought it failed, as I couldn't find it in the Shaping pannel.

    ...and it's here...

Since it's NOT including the head morph, I'm assuming that THIS also being the same character that caused my "G2F is shaping wrong" problem of the other week is coincidental.

    @Nadino here's the paremeters.

Hmm, odd. Usually when a morph appears only in the Parameters Panel and not in the Shaping tab is when its Type is set to none.

Like with most Projection Morph controllers. But yours clearly has the correct type.

Nvm. I wonder why none of your other GenX morphs are preset in this tab. Has any of the files been edited externally?

Nope..the full version of this (rather than the body only) iirc, I changed the name externaly..or maybe this one. I can't recall.

In the Parameters tab have a look under "Actor", you'll find your other morphs listed under there.

With the Genesis series of figures only morphs listed under the Actor and sub Regions will show in the Shaping tab, your Silver Paine morph is clearly nor listed under there so the only place you will see it is in the Parameters tab.

I had similar issues. Three things helped me:

Make shure to save your morph assets to an individual folder. That means you give your vendor and product name in the parameter setting tab, no matter if you plan to redistribute your morphs or not.

Make shure your custom morph is set to zero, when saving a morph asset.

Make shure the default value is set to zero in the parameter settings.

Ah, good catch Bejaymac. Indeed, the address should be Actor/Generation X/Victoria 4/Body... This is why the other transferred morphs are not listed with this particular morph (DUH - I'm so blind!)

Masterstroke you bring up good points. The Save Morph Asset settings are important and those tips will definitely help with most issues.
