...as I mentioned this never occurred until today. A real pain in the bum as sometimes when I'm writing a long post I end up having to move things around a bit. This needs to be fixed as "cut/copy and paste" while editing is a very basic operation. Why even bother having the tools there if they don't work properly?
Again issues like this make it look as if this was just thrown at us with very little (if any) testing. Not a a good way to win over your longstanding community and customers.
...well it looks and smells a lot like Magento, particularly after the forums were down for a bit today and the error I got had a Magento icon on the tab.
They also need to seriously fix this quote mode to at least take you down to the Leave a Comment window. I often just have the screen display jump up a bit (particularly in Gmail) just on it's own, so it's hard to tell if I have successfully quoted or not as we only have that tiny (almost invisible) blue link instead of a real button. . .
This has to be one of the clumsiest, sloppiest (when it comes to formatting), and most poorly designed setups I have ever seen for a forum going back to even the old USENET BBS days.
USENET BBS days. ah, that was all done with a GPU chip (IF you could call it that), not a programmable font like today. And especially on the green and black CRTs of the day, there was more limited ways to mess with the layout. Tho I digress, a menu bar back then still could have everything mushed together in an almost unintelligible way (FileEditOptionsHelp).
Today, we have more options, and more ways to shoot ourselves in the foot.
I just lost all my attachments! This is an error according to the post on the previous page. This place is falling apart. The old saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" springs readily to mind!

That's what that error was about that I got. I was trying to fix it. I guess there still working on the image fixing process.
Nothing worse then us messing with stuff, as there trying to fix it at the same time.
Yeah, I was in the middle of reattaching a file and got an 'internal error' message. The trick to buying new software is that at least one person has to understand what they're doing with it.

Magento is a content management system. It may or may not have anything to do with these problems. They already had Magento before, so the new forum software is the change. Maybe it doesn't play well with Magento.

It may have been Cloudflare as well, most of these problems existed for quite some time before this forum changeover. For one, the site use to work behind a firewall/proxy, for the past year it has not (and no one cared to even bother about that back then). The font in the store has been messed up for about a year now, and now it's in the forum. So as much as I poke fun at the HTML being broken, it probably is not limited to just the forum software.
It is Magento ... the reason for so many issues since the begining , I saw so many times Magento logo when the system was down
it's a shame that the search feature has been removed from the new forums. if we can't search for an existing answer, the forums will just become an unusable list of new posts re-asking the same questions over and over.

Okay, a couple things-
When I did a link, I had the option to choose whether I wanted it as a new _blank window, a popup, etc. The popup option did not work.
Second, due to my "security settings" I am not able to directly copy/paste, a popup window apppears and I have to do it there. Yesterday, no problem, but today, all those paragraphs that are BELOW the copy/pasted area are highlighted with a lighter gray that the background. I removed the copy/pasted (originally I had pasted the links to products, without using the Link option where the name of the product would be clickable) and it did no good. The paragraphs still have the whitish gray around them. I have tried copy/pasting the entire thing too, curious to see if the paragraph areas would be one big whitish background. Nope. Here's what this mess looks like:

So let's see if this paragraph does it, or if it was the bolding/color changing and posting URLS triggered it.
Since the paragraph posted here with a link didn't trigger a whitish gray background, color changing the text and bolding it originally triggered that background mess.
do we still have the ability to hide comments from someone that we do not wish to see their comments any longer
there is one particular negative nelly that gets under my skin and I would like to avoid her negativity if at all possible
Welcome to Copy-n-paste, that dose NOT remove the former text 'Formatting'. Thus operands/whatevers that do something elsewhere, may do something completely deferent. Like this.
I copy-n-paste your name from your post, Novica, and everything after it becomes a link to that. Simply because the text was copied with all that extra junk. The old forum text thing at least purged all that junk when you pasted text into it, this thing dose not.

I double checked my posts where I had links yesterday, and I think you're right. All the links were at the end of the paragraphs, so there was nothing for it to screw up when I pasted them. Oh great. My six threads all have the format of putting the products first with the links. It will look stupid with all that at the end of the product discussion! So I guess I can't link to the products anymore.
Instead of using the first paste icon, use the second one (the one with a T), "paste as plain text", then it won't include the formatting.

And Z- you can go to signatures and turn off the banners. I don't know if it works or not, but yes, banners can now be 2400 wide. Someone already mentioned by removing banners, limiting lines of quotes, they can see 10 posts instead of 2 (I think it was.)

and as to the sig banners. A hyper-active sig banner linking to the DAZ 3D store of the PA is one of the main reasons for having a signature banner.
It spans the width of the entire page, exactly like pay-for-ads at other places. lol.

disable signatures, or at least disable the images in signatures and your viewing experience will be much better.
No rules have been changed. This is how it used to be prior to the last iteration of the forum. The version before that had hyperlink style banners. And the PC has always been independant. It is a self financing Club.

Your signature show exactly the same wide as my banner what is w:1024 H:100 pxl I did not go for the 2400 pxl just in case people still use 1024 screen resolution
I use 1920 :1080 and still plenty of space to the end of the post
But it would be good if the banner resize automatic with the window
