Need Advice and Looking for Toon Skin for Aiko 5

edited July 2013 in The Commons

Trying to recreate a 3D model from a TV show. I can't seem to make either Blender or Hexagon to work properly so I've been using Aiko and morphs. (If it helps at all, the 3D model I'm trying to create is based off the Season 5 Winx Club characters.)

So far, the closest has been Aiko 5 with some free morphs by Sickleyield, but I can't quite get the face right, and I can't get it thin enough. I have an image attached that has my attempts alongside the actual versions.

Anyways, there's a bunch of questions attached to this little fail-story:

1. I have just enough to afford the new Genesis 2 morph packs, and was wondering if I could get any closer with those.

2. Is there a way to sort of, turn bones off? A lot of the issues with the body is that if I make it thin, the hip bones jut out horribly. I've tried applying a smoothing modifier and it doesn't really help.

3. I'm not the best at 3D sculpting, but if I want to give that a try, are there any tutorials I could sorta slowly work through to help? (Plus, this way I might be able to offer it to other people, for free of course).

4. I've been trying to find a sort of toonish skin to use (I tried making one, it...sucks.), that might come close to the skins from the show. Is there a free/cheap one that would work, or again, some kind of tutorial I could work my way through for making my own?

5. If anybody could offer any other tips, that would be great. I don't have a lot of money either, so I mostly have to work with freebies/cheap stuff. (Aiko was a gift from a friend, otherwise I'd still be working with Aiko 3, probably).
