Fix the store, DAZ!

Come on! This has been going on too long. Prices out of whack ALL THE TIME.

Apparently as an owner of Victoria 7, I'm supposed to get 50% off the entire store, plus 60% off featured GEnesis 2 items.

Why does this happen ALL THE TIME???

I'm not seeing 50% or 60% off prices anywhere. Why does a sale start, adn then we have to wait HOURS for the prices to stabilize???

Fix the store so this doens't happen every time!!!

Worked OK for me. Don't forget there's the usual restrictions i.e. doesn't apply to new releases etc. etc. etc.

You should have clicked in earlier, I was seeing 90-96% off the genesis 2 items at first :-) Bundles for $2.50? You bet :P ((Not to worry, I didn't pull the trigger on the checkout :P ) I think that is why the reset is in place, without discounts.

Agree, going on too often and too long.

LOL i saw the same thing. Got rather interested, thinking that they were "clearing" out the Genesis 2 stuff.

I kinda knew it wasn't real though - because this happens all the time with sales. The prices are NEVER what they are supposed to be at the start....and sometimes we have to wait a couple of hours for the correct discounts or correct prices to be shown. Drives me nuts

I don't even own V7 and I was seeing 90% discount on hundreds of items. I put a couple in my cart and checked - price still 90% off. So I filled up my cart and checked again - all prices back to full price.

I emptied my cart, added V7 and the 90% discounts were back. Again, I filled up my cart and all of a sudden the 90% discounts disappeared and 50% replaced them.

It is bad practise to tinker with live store prices because, while it might be the middle of the night in Utah, it is mid-morning here in the UK. Dangling bargains in front of our noses and then withdrawing them (or having a different price by the time the purchase reaches PayPal) is just bad business.

I agree with Marble. THAT'S why I get so angry with what happens. It's really bad business to have these prices jumping up and down for a while, or not showing correctly, when the ADVERTISED sale begins. There are always people in threads wanting to know why the correct discount isn't applying, and those of us who have been here a while have to say "Wait an hour or so till the store stabilizes". I mean, WTH??? Where in the world does that EVER apply anywhere else???

Ping pong- it was doing that 90%, then showing half price instead of 60%, and the Summer discounts aren't applying correctly. Still waiting.

Bad Business? It's illegal. Daz is one annoyed customer with a bored lawyer friend away from false advertising lawsuits. (They're whole "we load new products into the store with a free price tag, but jump the price to $100 when it's in your cart" thing? A brick and mortar store would be shut down

I still fail miserably at the math for the discounts. I never understand it.

PC members get 30% off DO's all the time. Then there'll be a sale where you get 60% off the DO's. I can NEVER work out why that doesn't mean 90%! LOL.

    Exactly!!!!!

Advertised price SHOULD BE THE PRICE it sells at, full stop.

I keep expecting someone to do that.

It's showing the correct price on the Gen2 stuff, haven't checked the other sections. (2:30am Central)

I wasn't sure of the law here but this is from the UK Citizens Advice:

Buying items on the internet, by mail order or telephone

Sometimes you can order something on the internet and when you get to the online checkout, the price appears higher than was originally advertised. What you can do depends on whether you have made an agreement with the trader to buy at the advertised price. This agreement is known legally as a contract.

In most cases, you won’t yet have a contract, especially if you haven’t yet confirmed your order or made a purchase. Unless a contract has been made, the trader has the right to change the price of the goods or withdraw the goods from sale completely.

However, I'm not really interested in the legality, just the aspect of customer good faith. I have often picked up a bargain in a supermarket, pointed out at the check-out that the wrong price is advertised but have been allowed to buy at that price. That's good faith. They are saying "yep, our mistake".

    Things are still strange.

I thought the 60% discount was for buyers/owners of V7. I did NOT buy V7 yet the discounts are still showing for me. I put one item in my cart and the discount was still showing. So I actually completed the PayPal transaction and bought it at the 60% discount price.

Heads up- the link for this sale to the V4/M4 only takes us to the main shopping page, nothing V4/M4. Will email the mods.

I thought the same but found that you have to click on the actual blue button at the bottom of the image, not on the image itself.

I thought I did but I must've missed the active coordinates on the image map.

    Wellllll ... I got burned.
The sale price lasted until I hit the submit button at PayPal ... then I got the rotating circle .... and then I was at the order page - with a full sale price no sale price!
Looked at Paypal - yes, the full price got deducted from my Paypal account, even when the moment I hit the submit button it was the sale price.
I really feel like kicking some...thing.
I submitted a ticket, but if it takes as many days as the last ticket, I will have to go through Paypal to do something about it.

I just tried 2 orders, one with SC and one with PayPal, and both went through fine, and sale prices charged on both. I admit the PayPal one did spin for a while, but when I checked on PayPal it had gone through for the correct amount.

I hope you don't get burned twice, because of the no-return policy for items bought with the summer sale savings discount?

No Summer sale savings discount for me ... as I don't like the no return policy I don't buy items that give punches and put things like those punches items in my wishlist for later.

If the item costs say 100 USD, then after the 60% discount, it only costs 40 USD. Then you get the 30% discount for this 40 USD (= -12), giving you a final price of 28 USD. That's a total of 72% discount.

... as far as I can tell from what I've seen so far... :)

Any other old-timers out there remember if this sort of thing only started with the switch to Magento and/or Cloudflare, or if it happened before?

(Yes, I know there were price glitches in the old store, but I don't remember them being quite as weird or consistently inconsistent as this.)

I checked out with a $15.48 total, and my credit card was charged $66.85... :ohh:

I have a screengrab with the prices I paid, so I'm sure support will take care of it, but still a pain...

Yeah, I'm not sure if I should check out yet or not. I've been adding things to my cart off and on through the day, and it seems every time I check my cart, the price on something has gone up. I only seem to be getting a straight 60% off the Genesis 1 items in my cart; I have one of the new "even more" items in my cart, so I should be getting 75% off, according to the ad here: http://www.daz3d.com/06-23-victoria-7. I'll keep checking my cart off and on tonight, but if it isn't working right by bedtime, I won't order; even when I take some items out of my cart, the next time I check, other items have gone up.

Ok, I just checked my cart again, and the total increased by another $44.00. I hadn't added anything to it. I have a feeling I may not buy anything tonight. I suppose it doesn't really matter, there will be another sale on Genesis and Genesis 2 items in a few months.

I don't know when Summer Savings discounts end but those could really make a difference. The discounts are working correctly now and it's only going to be half an hour Daz time before the possible changeover. Does anyone know when the Summer Sizzle discounts end?
