Genesis 3 seems to work in DAZ Studio 4.8, so maybe in addition to Iray, Genesis 3 support was part of 4.8.

I use Shaderworks' Library Manager w/ the Daz plugin- no PoserCF needed. Off to test!

wonder if we'll get offered cheaper or free upgrades to some addons we've bought to make them compatible with gen 3 or whether we have to buy new versions more likely the later

4.8 is all you need to work with Genesis 3, and you are correct, we snuck that one in with Iray.
in our product library section in genesis 3 essentials section there are templates for gen3 female and clothing to download, also says it's part of included in 4.8 now

I do like her looks like more detail whether that is base detail or enhanced with hd addon you have to buy later but yeah I will get her only thing spent a lot of money recently so can't afford that much yet roughly $174.44 australian
Here's the issue for the budget-limited but enthusiastic hobbyist. I resisted moving to G2 for more than a year during which time I continued to use V4. Clothing, etc. for V4 was never a problem because other stores had (and still do) vendors producing new items. Eventually I was seduced by the G2F/V6 extra realism including HD and SSS. So I have now, at considerable expense, compiled a decent wardrobe and pose set for G2F/V6 and a couple of related characters.
I never did make the transition from M5 to M6, however, and still use G1 males alongside G2F variants. I just couldn't afford two wardrobes/pose/morph sets, etc.
But eventually we are compelled to upgrade. Unlike V4, there will be few vendors producing clothing for G2F from now on. Just like there are no vendors making clothes for G1 these days. Artists and their tools get better. Clothing starts to look more realistic and it fits better. Those stuck on older versions of Victoria are left behind in the race towards realism.
I think the marketing folk at DAZ are aware of this because, every now and then we have a big sale to encourage the laggards to upgrade. I'm afraid they will have to wait for me and I'll have to wait for future sales.
A bit of a major typo in this paragraph: The two industry leading software products for leveraging the DAZ 3D models are DAZ Studio (which can be downloaded for free at Get Studio). Genesis 3 content will simply drop right into DAZ Studio seamlessly. To operate Genesis 3 content you must use the latest version of DAZ Studio available.

yeah it sucks being Australian right now...currency conversion is so bad that the pro bundle is WAY outta my price reach. I don't buy like I used to cos of that.
