Couple spotlight questions...

Two quick questions...

1) What is the name of this "ball" at the end of the spotlight.

2) Is there some way to manipulate the length without grabbing it?

I have gone through every setting under Lights... and none of them affect it, nor do any of them move when I grab it and move it around.

I realize part of that is the lateral movement (like where the light is pointing)... I am specifically talking about the movement that moves this "ball" closer and further away from the spotlight itself.
