Make this hair!

I saw this on FB and thought it looked better than any rainbow hair I have seen so far. Would this be hard to make (for those that know how to make hair)?
It would be awesome to put on some of my models!

    you just need a texture for most hairs
    can reuse Opacity map add a vertially tiled rainbow stripe to the diffuse

    Would that recreate the effect of the layered colors? Basically what I see here is colored hair underneath drastically different colored hair, in layers.

    That is a really cool look. I just made my first hair product, so I need a bit more practice, but if someone doesn't beat me to it, I'll put it on my project board.

    geometry shells!!!
    add a couple and UV shift the textures on the shells and off set them
    yes Slosh I know some MLP fans who would love Rainbow Dash hair AND a tail for their G2F (and G2M Bronies maybe too)

    Cool, but it looks like I need some more tutorials to understand what you just said...lol

    Can't promise anything... I'm about 15 ideas behind on my project board, but I like this one and it might crawl up the list a little faster than some other ideas.
