Meanwhile, about 600 smaller movie theatres in Germany are boycotting the movie, because Disney wants 53% of the ticket price as "lending fees"....
seems like the countryside will have to wait for the DVD release, or go to the larger towns to see the movie...

    Eight freakin days?
Where the hell did April go...?
I heard all sort of rumors about A2AOU (not writing that out), and eight days before it comes out I'm not even aware.
Well my kiddies will be thrilled... They are big fans...
One of my daughters has dressed as Ironman and Captain America for past Halloweens... I suspect this will renew their interest.

Can we agree to refrain from spoilers, rumors and otherwise "I wasn't surprised, I found out on line two weeks ago" ruling before this thread proceeds? My knowledge of this film so far is Ben Affleck is (thankfully) not in it and until I see it thats my threshold.

Well, as far as it goes, there's a very long list of people that aren't in it...and I'm very glad they are not. There's also the 'regulars' that ARE in it...again. That makes my kids happy, at least.

They've watched the trailers so many times I know all the dialog in them...

On a side note, when I went to see Thor 2, I walked up to the counter and actually said 'One for Loki.'
It took a few moments to realize why the clerk was staring at me oddly before I realized and corrected myself...

    Revealing. Heh.

I'm looking forward to this, but I'm actually a little more excited by the coming Ant Man movie.

My co workers have discovered this, and are shunning me.

Which reminds me of another thought... I've long thought that comedians often make great dramatic/action actors, because many comedians are driven to comedy by deep emotional issues or background. Comedy is arguably harder than drama...

Stuff like Robin Williams as a villain, Jim Carrey doing serious roles, and so on? Gripping.

I thought Ryan Reynolds was great in Green Lantern, the problem was EVERYTHING ELSE, and hey, Michael Keaton made an awesome Batman (IMO).

And I bring all this up because I don't know if I would be interested in Ant Man if it wasn't Paul Rudd.

Yes, something happened to SHIELD in the second CA movie; you really should see it. You can also get an idea of what happened by watching Mavrel's Agents of SHIELD. You can watch all the episodes on ABC's website.

I'm waiting with bated breath for the new Avengers movie.

The second Capt America movie ('Winter Soldier') was my favorite of the whole Marvel franchise so far, very worth watching. If faced with the decision between watching 'Winter Soldier' or watching Agents of Shield to find out what happened to Shield... well that's a little like choosing between eating ice cream and eating mud.. easy decision Go with 'Winter Soldier' is my advice. :)

Yeah, I've always preferred the clothes George Perez gave Wanda, even over her original outfit in the comics. But if the writing and acting is good, it's a minor thing to me.

I would just watch both. The thing I like about the current plot on Agents of SHIELD is that it does have some nice connections to one of the MCU movies coming out in a few years. I won't say any more about that; don't want to spoil anything for anyone.

I have some sympathy for your plight. Ant Man has Evangeline Lilly in it but Avengers, on the other hand, has Scarlett Johansson. Which is of these is the more enticing prospect is a very tough judgement call.

    Cheers,

    Alex.

I would have offered to open a temporal portal between your location and the cinema in switzerland but unfortunately they do not let me because the technology is still unsafe.:P

Saw it this evening - most enjoyable. No Pepper Potts, which was a shame. But we do get the usual witty Whedon repartee... Oh and Scarlett :-)

I think I'm going to try to see it tomorrow, if I can find a ride. I still can't drive until my neurologist tells the state I'm ok now. I sure miss the days when all the small towns around here had one or two theaters.
