UltraScenery XT

So I picked this up and looked around the forums for a thread about the basics of using this, but couldn't find one. Does anyone know if there is one?  I'm able to get a scene going fine, but when I save the file and come back in, only the terrain  appears, no foliage or water etc. Does the Ultrascenery plugin need to be invoked to generate the details of the scene every time you open such a scene, does anyone know?  I know there is a tutorial product that goes into the details of using this but I'm really just looking for pointers on a few basics and don't think I really should need to buy another product just to use this one lol. TIA

There is a commercial thread for this product, you might want to look in there:

Thanks so much for making that. I'm going to have to watch it again to figure out what you did differently than me to save everything correctly. I can generate all the scenery fine, like I said, but only get terrain when I reload the file. So, I think you did not need to re-run the plugin to generate the scenery on reload, is that correct?

Thanks! Yes, on my searching for a thread on using the product, that's all I could find, a million of those commercial posts lol

Okay, for some reason doing a "Save As/Scene Subset" (selecting everything)  is not the same as "Save" for UltraSceneryXT.   If you generate a terrrain and do a "Save As/Scene Subset" when you're done, only the terrrain is saved, not the foliage or water etc, even though everything is selected to save.  (I got in the habit of doing that save routinely instead of "Save" a few versions back of DS, when compressing files was often not happening and saved files got increasingly bloated).   When I do a regular "Save", everything is saved properly.  Thanks f or the help everyone.

To save as a scene subset, you need to keep your "XT" terrain files in a different folder to avoid mixing them up. This is because, for other "XT" scenes, separate save places. When you open the subset, go to the "XT' tab and check the box for the height map. You will have your scene back
